Position: Director, Head of Marketing - Immunology: Orencia

Location: Princeton Pike, NJ

Position Summary:

This position will lead all marketing efforts for ORENCIA in the US, reporting to the US Commercial Lead. This role is responsible for the Orencia Brand Strategy & Functional Plan, including HCP marketing, patient marketing, as well as lead a team of Key Account Managers, responsible for optimizing access and deployment of our Contracting Strategy. The successful candidate will lead a team of Marketers and Key Account Managers and will work closely across the Matrix to accelerate the overall brand vision of being the First Choice Biologic for the Dual Sero-Positive RA patient. This role will lead the evolution of the entire professional & patient campaigns across all channels of execution and will require close coordination supporting the broad efforts of the Brand Team.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic evolution of the Orencia Marketing Strategy, ensuring fit-for-purpose for life cycle of brand
  • Provide leadership, coaching and professional development of marketing team (2), while overseeing the execution of strategy and all campaign elements for ORENCIA core selling materials including building out digital and omni-channel capabilities/ deployment
  • Provide leadership, coaching and professional development of Key Account Managers (2), focused on enhancing access, reimbursement, and appropriate use of ORENCIA for priority customer accounts that are non-traditional and evolving. Identify and execute (or pilot) opportunities within our Key Accounts to drive Orencia utilization.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to ensure strategic pull through in the field and aligned with Key Account priorities
  • Lead professional & patient brand planning, both strategic and functional, ensuring accurate and appropriate management of assigned OPEX resources
  • Lead the Team as it prepares for all POA meetings, ensuring that commercial goals and objectives are met
  • Lead the AOR relationship, including vendor assessment, ensuring the marketing team is closely managing the budget, through coaching, reconciliation and quarterly AOR/Brand Planning Meetings
  • Leadership across the matrix, in key areas relevant to brand execution. Examples include, but not limited to:
  • Identify and work closely with Medical Affairs and PReP Advisors to determine a path forward for new core data elements and evolution of the messaging platform
  • Collaborate across BI&A and provide oversight and coaching for all professional market research; stimuli development, methodology assessment and final insight generation. Ensure alignment of brand strategy and objectives in all other quantitative tracking tools (message tracker, ATU)
  • Lead Marketing Team engagement with the Digital hub to ensure Core Digital Assets are focused on brand objectives; consistency of derivative materials is critical
  • Ensure that all practices are compliant with relevant laws, regulations and BMS standards of business conduct and ethics

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years pharmaceutical brand marketing or relevant biopharmaceutical experience required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing and developing direct reports
  • Documented experience in strategic planning and development and execution of tactical plans
  • Deep knowledge, with documented experience preferred, of the clinical, economic and business model dynamics driving decision making and coverage in Immunology
  • Marketing fundamentals (analytics, insights, and strategy) required; experience taking complex scientific data and simplifying story
  • Individual must demonstrate the ability to build alignment across large cross functional matrix teams through cooperation principles
  • BA/BS required with MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Experience with multi-channel marketing execution is preferred
  • Proven project management experience, demonstrated success in managing multiple priorities, knowledge and experience in navigating the medical/regulatory/legal approval process
  • Strong interpersonal and proactive communication skills and the ability to effectively and efficiently drive performance are required
  • Ability to rapidly adapt and execute plans in fast paced environment
  • Personal integrity; passionate, energetic and focused on the company and mission
  • Demonstrate the capacity to grow, develop and learn from experiences
