Bilingual Collections Associate

Bread is looking for a Collections Associate to join our growing Customer Operations Center in Tampa, Florida. Collections Associates will report to the Collections Team Leader and will be responsible for assisting customers who have fallen behind on their payments and help them become current.

Your role at Bread:

  • Contact customers via telephone and make arrangements to bring the account current while complying with internal policy and procedures
  • Display strong communication, analytical, and problem solving skills to find solutions to bring accounts current
  • Document all interactions with 100% data integrity in the appropriate CRM system
  • Identify opportunities to improve the collection processes on behalf of our bank partner and share with the rest of the business
  • Investigate, research, and track consumer information using online skip tracing tools
  • Operate in a goal-oriented environment, achieving individual and team performance targets
  • Maintain compliance with FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) and state regulations
  • Perform other functions as assigned by management 

What we are looking for:

Must have:

  • 1-3 years experience in call center collections
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Strong understanding of the Fair Debt Collection Privacy Act (FDCPA)
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Passionate about helping people
  • Experience in a metrics-driven environment
  • Availability to work a full-time flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Have:

  • Knowledge of the e-commerce and payments landscape
  • Financial Services experience
  • Collections Software (Katabat) experience
  • Experience working with an auto dialer
  • First party collections experience strongly preferred
