ABOUT THE TEAM

The Financial Systems team oversees the ongoing enhancement of Braze’s Financial platforms, data, security and operating procedures. At our core, we are system optimization people. While we are committed to providing outstanding end-user support, our primary objective is to find and fix inefficiencies, enabling functional teams to perform at levels they never thought possible. As a team, we care about end-user satisfaction, agile methodologies and system integrity. To the company, we provide post production administrative support, lead digital transformation projects and provide process improvement and access to new reporting capabilities. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Financial Systems Engineer, you care about developing and delivering workable automation solutions that resolve current needs while refactoring overall systems to keep things agnostic. Your primary focus is system development and optimization projects. You will be developing and automating business processes within different systems, such as Netsuite and Coupa, and across systems using iPaaS tools like Tray.io. This is a hands-on development position that requires a strong understanding of our enterprise systems and how they interact. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Execute multiple development tasks as part of an agile team process managed in Atlassian Jira.
  • Deliver first in class Javascript/Python code and designs that adhere to software development industry best practices.
  • Develop and oversee the integration of various enterprise-level software applications, including Netsuite, Coupa and Salesforce. Ensure seamless communication and data flow between systems through well-defined interfaces in Tray.io.
  • Conduct implementation testing as part of standard software development lifecycles and per our change management policy.
  • Write, design, and execute automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically. 
  • Maximize test coverage for the most critical features of the systems.
  • Support new and existing customizations developed internally or by external partners across different systems like Netsuite, Tray.io etc.
  • Work with both Jira and Service Desk issues to drive incidents, problems and system changes. 
  • Identify, analyze and resolve system design weaknesses.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have 5+ years of technical development, test, and release management experience.
  • You have 3+ years of JavaScript/Python/SuiteScript development, preferably with GitHub or other source control systems.
  • You have 3+ years of coding experience using API based server side (without DOM) Javascript with deployment and dependency controls and excellent understanding of Map-Reduce.
  • You have experience and knowledge of some of the following platforms/applications: Salesforce, NetSuite, Coupa, Workday, Mulesoft, Boomi, Tray.io, Okta and Jira.
  • Experience working in an Agile methodology and in a task management system
  • You understand IT General Controls and can follow SOX compliance requirements, such as adhering to segregation of duties.
  • You learn new financial systems and stay informed of technology changes.
  • Develops solutions according to software development best practices.
  • You handle multiple projects and responsibilities with competing priorities.
  • You work independently and collaborate effectively.
  • You maintain confidentiality around sensitive information.
  • You possess the flexibility to operate across various global time zones in the event of any urgent matters or production issues.
  • Fluency in written and verbal English.
