We are looking for talented Software Engineers to join our Data team. The software engineer will work on all aspects of building scalable and robust data pipelines, from collection, to transform, to storage, and to querying and retrieval.

Although our data platform is primarily written in Java and Python, we value any capable Software Engineer who can think critically and learn quickly. We're hosted on Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services and leverage many of their services to power our platform. We are looking for engineers who are comfortable with a variety of server-side technologies and are determined self-starters with a strong passion for technology innovation.

 

You Will:

  • Be a critical part of the technology team and the wider company, as an excellent problem solver
  • Work on our ETL pipelines, helping to scale them in line with the growth of our company
  • Work with stakeholders, such as developers, analysts and data scientists, to ensure everyone in the company has access to the data they need
  • Identify, design, and implement internal processes and systems… “using common tools or writing some ourselves’
  • Improve the systems - optimizing performance, reliability, and scalability of our existing systems
  • Write clear documentation as well as unit tests to ensure code reliability and ease of maintenance
  • Perform stress and load testing across various core services
  • Create data tools for analytics and data scientists that assist them in building and optimizing our products.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Demonstrable results and products from 3+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience working with databases and data infrastructure (e.g. Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, Kinesis, Kafka, Spark)
  • Ability to build in-house tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently or in small teams
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced technology environment.
