WHAT YOU'LL DO
BCG Nexus Costa Rica is an exciting new office that executes best-in-class operations, serving the broader BCG business. Nexus Costa Rica is a hub for regional and global functional teams to be co-located in a dynamic and engaging space, enabling team members to connect with and serve our BCG and client customer base. This diverse set of business services teams covers functions such as Administrative Services, Design Studios, Data Research Services, IT, Finance Shared Services, HR Shared Services, Legal Operations, Business Intelligence and Analytics, among others. The office is expected to continue to expand its employee base significantly over the next few years.
The Human Resources (HR) Manager is an opportunity to provide leadership and ongoing management of the HR function for the office by partnering and providing support and expertise to the BCG Costa Rica office staff throughout the employee life cycle, as well as partnering with the functional HR Business Partners, Global Centers of Excellence and regional teams to facilitate, drive and execute organizational change. You will act as an expert resource for Costa Rican employment laws and regulations, employee data management and integrity, HR operational matters with regard to the employee life cycle such as benefits, performance management, mobility, and employee relations, among other HR areas. Through utilizing analytics, project management and communication skills, you translate business strategy into various HR talent solutions to increase overall organizational capabilities, organizational culture, talent and operational efficiencies. In addition, this role is a member of the larger HR community which is located throughout many different offices across North America.

YOU'RE GOOD AT
Employee Relations and HR Policies

Come with an exceptional understanding of Costa Rican regulatory/ compliance skills

Develop close partnership with HR counterparts across the region and in other areas of the organization to ensure alignment of HR policies and procedures

Manage Employee Relations matters and give guidance to the team, pursuing solutions that balance individual, firm and functional needs

Interpret, implement and answer inquiries related to HR policies and procedures, while ensuring consistency, reinforcing adherence as appropriate and with a strong understanding of local labor laws

Work with internal legal team and external legal counsel as necessary

Full Employee Lifecycle Support: Recruiting, On-Boarding, Transfers and Employee Departures

Rolling up your sleeves and acting as the first point of contact for staff and managers with regard to HR policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate communication and consistent application

Manage and coordinate internal transfers, which may include movements between functions, offices, and/or countries

Coordinate Costa Rican immigration process by working with the regional HR team, global mobility team, legal counsel and expatriates to secure employment authorization as needed

Manage employee exit process including all related documentation and conduct thorough exit meeting

Act as an HR point of contact to incoming staff and BCG alumni

Understand business goals and market trends and leveraging this insight to recommend and influence new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of HR

Compensation and Benefits

Provide local insights and support in implementing the annual increase and bonus process for BST staff within regional guidelines

Provide general support to employees regarding BCG's benefits offerings

Work with Benefits team to ensure timely and accurate dissemination of benefits information to employees and engage team to help address questions/ concerns

Manage LOAs, etc. in accordance with BCG policies and Costa Rican regulations

Coordinate and oversee local wellness initiatives and activities

Performance Management

Ensure consistent and equitable interpretation and application of all set performance management guidelines and provide appropriate and effective advice and coaching

Promote a strong leadership and coaching environment; create and oversee delivery of Performance Improvement Plans

Assist managers and leaders with identifying development opportunities for employees

Other duties as needed to support the team

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Organization Development or other related field is required
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience as HR Generalist or HR Business Partner in a global and matrixed environment
Significant experience with Costa Rica labor laws and compliance
Strong excel and PowerPoint skills
Strong knowledge of performance management, employee relations and compensation management
Excellent analytical and problem-solving approaches and the ability to influence
Exceptional interpersonal skills, sound judgement and the ability to juggle many, often competing priorities simultaneously
An active team player with strong organizational, analytical and project management skills
Comfortable in both working in detail and understanding the big picture; able to consider the ramifications of decisions on various constituencies
Reason minded with a pragmatic and hands on approach
Experience with HR Management systems like Workday is a plus
* Project Management experience to establish operational objectives which align to strategic policies

YOU'LL WORK WITH
You will be working in the Costa Rica office as part of the local Human Resources team. As a team, we support 400+ staff, providing on-the-ground support to a growing group of high performing team members from different functions.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Currently, this role is in the office 3 days/week, providing flexibility to work from home 40% of the time. This hybrid schedule allows for critically important learning, collaboration and networking with our colleagues. Specific days in the office are as agreed upon by the team.
