WHAT YOU'LL DO
The position is a member of the Global Investments, Consolidations, Accounting and Reporting ("GICAR") team under the direction of the Global Accounting Director. The GICAR team is part of a broader team, the Global Accounting and Control ("GAC") team that is under the direction of the Global Finance Director & Corporate Controller. The GAC team has various responsibilities including:
Consolidating and reporting BCG's financial information on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis (management reporting and US GAAP financial statements).
Establishing and communicating various accounting policies and procedures to finance teams across the globe.
Supporting and collaborating with finance teams across BCG on technical accounting matters to ensure we are producing top-quality financial data that can be relied upon by decision-makers across the organization

In this role, you will work collaboratively with other team members of the global and local finance organization, including external auditors, to prepare BCG's internal and external financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and BCG's accounting policies. Additionally, you will manage cross-functional project teams across a variety of topics. You will have significant interaction with other functions in Global Services including Treasury, Tax, Global Field Operations, Risk and Finance Systems. You will also have significant interactions with the accounting and finance teams within BCG's regional and local offices.
YOU'RE GOOD AT

Managing the overall global process for lease accounting, performing various reconciliation, and partnering with local offices to ensure required controls ae in place.
Act as the subject matter expert to software capitalization and fixed asset accounting, performing various reconciliations and partnering with local offices/global teams to ensure appropriate accounting & reporting.
Review and support material affiliate offices. Includes reviewing monthly reporting packages to ensure compliance with BCG's accounting policies, analyzing actual results compared to forecasts and prior year results, and reporting local results to senior leaders in Global.
Participate in the global month-end process including coordination as assigned affiliate offices to ensure all ledgers are closed and submitted in time for Flash and Final monthly reporting. Assist in tracking submissions of assigned affiliates offices' monthly packages and sign offs in the system and tackle any ad-hoc monthly close issues that arise.
Develop an in-depth understanding of BCG's financial reporting including the consolidated US GAAP financial statements as well as management reporting which include key performance metrics and business drivers.
Serve as the global subject matter specialist on various accounting topics; prepare and deliver related training to the global finance community.
Research accounting literature and apply technical accounting standards to complex business issues for areas like lease accounting as per US GAAP, internally developed software capitalization and document positions in detailed technical accounting memorandums for senior leadership and external auditors.
Monitor FASB, IASB, and other standard setting organizations to identify new standards that BCG will need to adopt and determine the impact of adoption to BCG financial statements. Furthermore, assist and lead in the implementation of new accounting guidance applicable to BCG.
Extensive cross-functional teaming with stakeholders and finance colleagues worldwide, requiring strong US GAAP technical accounting skills and communication skills.
Performing routine reviews of accounting policies, training materials, procedures, and internal controls in order to ensure continuous improvement.
Documenting the process notes for various topics and ensuring regular updates in the existing documents whenever required.
Review affiliate entity financial statements prior to filing/issuance/sign-off.
Participate in finance transformation project (implementation of new ERP system and overhaul of close processes).

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

8-10 years of progressive accounting-related work experience, including extensive experience with US GAAP accounting and financial reporting
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required; masters degree or MBA a plus
CPA/CA status required
Previous experience working in a major public accounting firm is required
Previous working experience at a large multinational company within a multi-currency environment, where foreign operations represent a significant portion of consolidated results
Previously experience is managing, coaching, developing, and training direct reports
Very strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
The ability to operate at a "high level" as well as a "detailed level"
Sound analytical and reporting skills; ability to understand complicated topics, apply critical thinking, apply judgment, and make decisions
Good management judgment, flexibility, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; comfortable interacting with peer group, senior leadership, and third-party service providers
Excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple changing priorities along with day-to-day responsibilities
Strong work ethic, professional attitude, and reliability
Experience using Oracle/HFM and SAP (S/HANA 4) based accounting systems
Advanced computer literacy (use of Windows and corresponding software applications including PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
Experience with advanced data analysis/reporting tools a huge plus (i.e., Tableau, Alteryx, Python, etc.)
* Travel may be required occasionally
