Team Lead: Travel, Expense & Cards

As part of the Purchase-to-Pay department, the Travel, Expense and Cards (TEC) Team supports the business with all kinds of corporate travel, duty of care, expense claim submissions/reimbursements and corporate credit cards. The Team Lead TEC has a stakeholder mindset and has experience in leading, developing and coaching an international team in an environment that embraces change, cultivates service excellence, productivity, growth, empowerment and teamwork. It is key to have a solid understanding of Booking.com's travel end-to-end process, from credit card procedures to corporate travel and expense reimbursements. Knowledge of Concur Travel, Concur Expense, Expense solutions like AppZen and a travel Global Distribution System (Amadeus, Galileo) is essential.

The Team Lead TEC is responsible for leading and coaching the team together with the manager support and ensures that daily operations are performed timely, accurately and meet all compliance related aspects like internal controls, data privacy and financial closing activities. Other focus areas will be driving process improvements efficiency whilst securing solid controls, performing periodic business reviews with external business partners, innovation and working on key initiatives in different areas of content/specialty.

B.Responsible:
  • Manage, develop and coach a team to ensure the development of individuals within the organization by providing clear expectations, appropriate coaching, mentoring and feedback.
  • Conduct 1:1 meetings with the team to maintain focus and motivation
  • Daily performance and workload monitoring via KPI dashboard and Zendesk
  • Strictly keeping SLA deadlines for operations (communication, travel bookings, expense claim audits
  • Ensure that all internal and external stakeholders are updated in a timely and professional manner during the month end closing process and ensure all necessary reviews are performed
  • Responsible for the globalization of TEC procedures and processes and utilization of systems, including the implementation of on new markets
  • Maintains system configurations within TEC
  • Act as the intermediary between the team and the P2P Manager.
  • Lead the recruitment process to ensure that the TEC team has the right people at the right time
  • Being the decision maker with regards to escalations
  • Implement and execute company policies, processes and innovations
  • Assure strong quality as well as productivity standards within the team
  • Track and monitor performance levels, and manage underperformance
  • Manage and achieve departmental KPI's in line with Booking.com Business objectives in collaboration with the P2P Manager
  • Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, ethical practices and relevant laws and regulations
  • Works with management to identify process improvements
  • Be involved in the management and execution of ad hoc projects where required
  • Ensures proper documentation of policies, processes and training material
B.Skilled:
  • 3-5 years of relevant managerial experience
  • Good understanding of P2P process
  • High analytical and conceptual skills
  • Ability to work independently, with self-motivation and discipline
  • Excellent communication skills, being fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Creative and critical thinker, ability to think in a process mindset.
  • A good people motivator with management experience
  • Ability to proactively drive the assigned projects and reach the preset objectives
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of the corporate travel industry
  • Understanding the impact of the team and the bigger picture
  • Good presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates tenacity, drive, ability to inspire and collaborate.
  • Ability to multi-task & a flexible and positive attitude
  • Able to adapt style and approach in order to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders from a variety of different cultures
  • Knowledge of at least one of the GDS (Amadeus or Galileo)
  • Profound knowledge on SAP Concur, Expense system configurations including expense audits
