We will create cross-business unit architectural standards and reusable artifacts, developing a high-level architecture blueprint that provides an overview of the system's structure and its main components. Most importantly, Tech Standards will establish a tech radar and actively promote the understanding and adoption of architectural principles and best practices within Booking.com, empowering everybody to excel in their roles.
Role Description:
We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our Tech Standards organization. The Senior TPM will be responsible for managing a company wide initiative to centralize and standardize product Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs). The Senior TPM will have extensive experience leading large-scale, cross-organizational software development projects and possess a strong technical background. This role requires the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, managing ambiguity and competing priorities. The Senior TPM will be responsible for both driving high-level strategic initiatives and actively engaging in day-to-day operations to implement change.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Transition Management: Oversee the program transition, coordinating with various stakeholders to gather requirements and define the transition's scope.
- Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans that highlight milestones, resource allocations, and timelines.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate communication with senior leaders and project sponsors, providing updates on project progress and addressing any blockers.
- Security Compliance Integration: Collaborate with architects to ensure security principles are integrated early in the product development lifecycle and coordinate with the Security and Compliance Change Advisory Board (CAB) for approved changes.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Design robust mechanisms for ongoing monitoring and compliance reporting related to NFRs.
- Continuous Improvement: Establish a continuous improvement framework for the NFR process, ensuring it evolves to meet business needs effectively.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support for teams to ensure smooth adoption of the NFRs.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred).
- 5 to 8 years of experience in technical program management or related roles.
- Strong understanding of technology and ability to effectively communicate technical concepts.
- Proven ability to use data-driven insights to address business challenges and solve problems.
- Experience with Agile environments and certification is desirable.
- Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
