About the Team: Our team is a dedicated Legal function within Booking Holdings, supporting one of the world's leading online travel companies, specialising in the provision of legal advice to enable the Booking Holdings Global Fintech strategy. We provide a full range of legal services for our global fintech products and payment solutions, focusing on supporting Booking.com, which has a dedicated Fintech Business Unit. As a key member of the FT Legal team, you will be crucial in ensuring our legal services are delivered effectively and efficiently. You will report directly to the Sr Dir, Fintech Legal at Booking.com, who is accountable for the day to day provision of legal services in support of Fintech at Booking.com.

Job Summary: The Sr Project Manager, Legal Operations, FT Legal is a key member of our team to implement processes and structures to ensure goal achievement and to help the Fintech Legal team to partner with Fintech Business Unit and the wider stakeholder community more smoothly. They are responsible for coordinating the execution of the day-to-day operations of the legal service model in support of a major business unit (organization, department, area, function) to ensure that it runs effectively and efficiently, and lead independently End-to-end (E2E) processes with high complexity and high impact, from scoping to execution, analysis, recommendation and implementation.
They also support the implementation of an effective rhythm of business both within the Fintech Legal team and cross departments and business units to achieve the shared objectives and mitigate key dependencies. The Sr Project Manager, Legal Operations will partner with the different teams in the Company to ensure the right tracking of the key initiatives deliverables and KPIs within the departments. Also they will support the adoption of Company wide processes within their department (eg. Quarter Operational Reviews, Strategic Portfolio Management tracking, Planning and Budget, etc).
The Sr Project Manager, Legal Operations acts as a support for all the yearly planning activities, as well as the execution of the planned activities after budget submission.
This role may also get involved in a strategy workstream, end-to-end activities of a project or change management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Craft methodology and standards:
- Apply structured methodology to implement an effective way of running business as usual operations and to make it easier for the teams to work and achieve objectives.
- Support the scoping, design, execution of the processes and key initiatives to run the business and the organization
- Positively and proactively contributes towards the craft, including being available to coach others, share best practices or participate in events or projects
Process Excellence
- Execute thoughtful, yet simple, processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Implement the optimization of business operations by driving adoption of standardized processes across the departments to increase efficiency and effectiveness while also simplifying where possible
Planning
- Support annual and ad hoc planning processes within the department, by working closely with each sub-departments and collaborate with Finance & FP&A for a budget definition and resource allocation.
Cadence
- Support the preparation and facilitation of business reviews (monthly, quarterly, mid year), including managing follow up and ensuring actions are tracked and delivered.
Performance management
- Implement the measurement, reporting and analysis of performance (vs. KPIs), creating and automating reporting and performing analysis where possible.
Stakeholder management
- Effectively collaborate with various teams, departments, and stakeholders. Acts as a central point of contact, streamlining processes, fostering teamwork, and driving operational efficiency.
- Ability to influence up to Director level and productively interact with Sr Director level.
Qualifications & Skills:
- A legal qualification or equivalent exposure to legal industry or practice is likely to be required to be effective in role.
- 5 - 8 years experience in legal project management ideally within law firms or similar working on banking & finance or fintech projects.
- Craft skills: basic process management and problem solving skills including experience with project / change management approaches and phases. Preferably having a solid data and insights analytical skills, comfortable in facilitating effective governance and business as usual initiatives
- Proven experience using project and task management software and tools, such as JIRA, Asana, Confluence or Trello.
- Have a basic business and good financial understanding, independently use quantitative and qualitative data to drive decision making.
- Ability to tell a clear story with data/insights. Have a good financial background to be comfortable in understanding business and financial metrics and identify key insights for decision making purposes.
- Ability to identify challenges and opportunities and recommend solutions/actions.
- Change Management basic background.
- Be able to effectively communicate with people of diverse background and seniority while building and maintaining lasting relationships. Skilled communicator and proven relationship builder, able to operate within a multitude of formal and informal networks while managing the competing interests of varied stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills focused on collaboration. Building and maintain lasting relationships and connections with diverse teams, across the organization and outside
- Highly organized and structured in order to make sure all processes run smoothly and in a reliable manner.
- Able to influence (senior) management and groups.
- Solve complex problems under minimal supervision. Able to break up a complex problem into actionable and easy to understand solutions. As well, they should be hands on and drive solutions to problems in partnership with the involved parties.
