The Role
In this role you are part of a dynamic and fast-paced team and will report to the Director of Corporate FP&A of Booking.com, being part of a high performing team of highly motivated and successful professionals that work very closely with their respective stakeholders and business partners.
We are looking for a resourceful and analytical colleague to own and drive our Month End and Forecasts processes and variance analyses. Reporting to the FP&A Director, this position requires a combination of analytical skills, strategic thinking, and business acumen to support key decision-making processes. The Senior Analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams to provide insightful financial analysis, forecasts, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Drive the FP&A forecast process
- Consolidate in one view the forecasts of all BUs, challenge each BUs submission and ultimately support the director to build the story
- Prepare comprehensive financial models and forecasts, incorporating historical data and business drivers.
- Analyze variances between actual results and forecasts, identifying key performance indicators and underlying factors influencing financial performance.
- Provide timely and accurate financial insights to support strategic decision-making by senior management.
- Management Reporting:
- Generate periodic financial reports and dashboards for senior management and department heads, highlighting key performance metrics, trends, and areas of concern.
- Develop standardized reporting packages to streamline communication and enhance visibility into financial performance across the organization.
- Business Partnering:
- Partner with the rest of FP&A teams in order to be able to consolidate forecasts and report actuals
- Partner with Accounting to ensure smooth month end processes and forecast inputs
- Act as a trusted team member to the VP of FP&A by offering adhoc analysis
- Continuous Improvement:
- Proactively identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial planning and analysis activities.
- Proven experience (typically 7+ years) in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or related roles, preferably within a publicly traded company or large complex organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial modeling techniques.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze financial statements
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google sheets and financial planning software; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy, integrity, and compliance in financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong interpersonal skills and good stakeholder management.
- Ability to understand, work with and proactively advise and influence senior business partners;
- Sees the headlines or big picture whilst having attention for the details;
- Strong team-working skills with ability to work independently;
- Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and working in an unstructured environment;
