Product Manager – Systems Management and Resilience

Role Overview

We are seeking a Product Manager (PM) - Systems Management and Resilience to define, drive, and execute the roadmap for reliability-focused platforms, services, and tools at Booking.com. You will work at the intersection of platform engineering, site reliability engineering (SRE), and product teams, enabling thousands of engineers to deliver resilient, observable, and performant systems in a complex hybrid-cloud environment.
This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical fluency, a customer-first mindset, and a proven track record of delivering platform products that improve developer experience and system reliability at scale.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Own the Service Health Tooling Roadmap: Define and communicate the north star vision for Service Health platforms and tooling, including interfaces with observability, chaos engineering, incident management, and resilience automation.
• Enable Engineering Teams: Build products and capabilities that allow engineers across Booking.com to design, deploy, and operate reliable services with minimal friction.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with SRE, platform, and product engineering teams to align on reliability goals, SLOs, and error budgets.
• Incident & Postmortem Insights: Incorporate learnings from incidents and operational reviews into the product roadmap.
• Measure Impact: Define KPIs for reliability tooling adoption and effectiveness (MTTD, MTTR, deployment success rates, incidents prevented, service uptime).
• Advocate for Reliability Culture: Drive awareness and adoption of best practices, empowering teams to take shared responsibility for reliability.

Role Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred; MBA or equivalent experience is a plus.
• 5+ years in Product Management, with at least 2 years in platform, infrastructure, or reliability-focused products at scale.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, observability, cloud/hybrid infrastructure, CI/CD, and modern SRE practices, ML experience is a plus.
• Ability to translate complex operational data into actionable product insights.
• Proven ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• Strong empathy for internal users (engineers, SREs, platform teams) and ability to balance their needs with strategic priorities.
