Global Category Manager Procurement Tech (Business Application)

The Global Procurement Manager is responsible for designing and executing category strategies across all Booking Holdings brands in the technology category and managing complex sourcing projects across regions or business units. This role manages procurement projects with a typical annual value of ₠1M-₠20M, and co-designs and owns category strategies overseeing cumulative spend between ₠50M-₠100M. The position plays a key role in aligning procurement with strategic objectives across a complex, matrixed organization.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Category Strategy & Sourcing
- Co-design with the business, and own category strategies managing ₠50M-₠100M in total annual spend across our Business Applications category (e.g., Sales & Marketing solutions, DevEx tooling, etc.)
- Lead sourcing projects valued between ₠1M-₠20M, ensuring competitive outcomes and stakeholder alignment
- Analyse supplier markets and develop long-term sourcing plans aligned to business objectives
- Integrate sustainability, risk mitigation, innovation, and regulatory compliance in all sourcing strategies
Supplier & Performance Management
- Develop supplier governance frameworks, including scorecards, reviews, and KPIs
- Ensure performance consistency, innovation, and contract adherence
- Proactively manage risks and support supplier development initiatives
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a procurement business partner for functional and regional leaders in HR & Technology
- Manage stakeholder relationships across a multinational environment with complex reporting lines
- Align procurement plans with finance, legal, and compliance functions for end-to-end delivery
Value Creation & Reporting
- Drive year-on-year cost savings by optimizing both price and demand levers, in alignment with assigned savings targets and evolving business needs.
- Generate additional value beyond cost and price reduction through innovation, process efficiency, supplier collaboration, and risk mitigation
- Monitor and report savings, value creation, compliance, and risk metrics
- Contribute to long-term financial planning and procurement transformation
- Use analytics to identify continuous improvement opportunities
Qualifications & Skills
- Master's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field
- Expertise in procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Coupa), and analytics tools (e.g., Sievo, Simfoni)
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders in complex matrixed environments
- 7+ years of experience in procurement or category management of Technology Spend within multinational organizations
- Experience managing senior stakeholders across large, matrixed environments
- Demonstrated ability to drive significant year-on-year cost savings
- Strong record of success in cross-functional collaboration, negotiation, and value delivery initiatives
- Deep understanding of Contract Law
- Proficiency in negotiating complex SaaS agreements
- Experience in leading negotiations/relationships with suppliers such as Salesforce, Google, SAP, ServiceNow, Zendesk, Workday, OpenAI
- Strong knowledge of GenAI solutions, and negotiating GenAI commercial agreements (with a strong understanding of risk mitigation strategies.)
