Team Lead, Corporate Actions (Fixed Term Contract)

Overview

The Asset Servicing department is responsible for servicing the assets for over 100 clients and their underlying beneficiaries, these clients are predominately based in the UK, Ireland and Chanel Islands. These clients are both Retail, Wealth, IFA and Institutional Financial Services companies. The department comprises of 60 employees with staff in 3 locations Liverpool, London and Chennai.
The department is split into six sections: Dividends, Market Claims, Middle Office function, Event Processing, Control & Oversight and Event Capture.
The Departments responsibilities are to ensure accurate and timely event capture, accurate and timely processing of both Dividends and Corporate Events that affect underlying client accounts ensuring that clients stock and portfolio records are accurately reflected at all times, all market claims are captured and paid in a timely manner, and the timely capture (middle office) of clients elections.

The area processes around 12,000 corporate action and 20,000 dividend events per year.
All areas cover global corporate actions and this offers exposure to all types of events, markets and asset classes.

Role Description
  • Management of own workload and that of the processors ensuring SLAs are met throughout the lifecycle of a Corporate Action
  • End to End Corporate Action Event Approval - Checking and approving Mandatory and Optional Event Set up and Approving Election for Optional Events via numerous platforms (CREST GUI/Easyway etc)
  • Client Query Management - dealing with all client queries which are raised with the department
  • Break Managemen
  • Investigation and resolution of all stock and cash breaks
  • High Risk Event Management - Manage corporate actions that involve a high risk - monitoring the process of the event end to end
  • To deal confidently and articulately with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to set priorities and manage deadlines escalating issues where necessary
  • Good Team player, self-starter, flexible with the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Controls and procedures are adhered to, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met to minimise risk at all times
  • Any other duties as required
Required Skills
Must be able to demonstrate experience of the following:
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Awareness of risk
  • Strong Excel skills (to include use of formulas)
  • Must have a high level of attention to detail and be able evidence past experience of identifying and correcting errors in a process/procedure
  • Experience of working to short deadlines
  • Highly numerate
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to managing own deadlines and workloads
  • Trade Settlement or Corporate Actions knowledge and experience essential
Desirable
  • Experience of using non-Microsoft systems, including TLM, Pershing Nexus, NetX360, Nexen, CitiDirect, Easyway, Crest GUI, Swift Alliance
  • Experience of reconciling data
  • Experience of using workflow systems where diary notes are required
  • Financial Services experience
  • Working with customer data
