We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Specialist, Treasury Risk to join our Treasury Risk team. This role is located in Wroclaw - hybrid/remote.

Team Description:

This role will be part of the BNYM SA/NV Treasury risk and will also be part of the International Treasury Risk team and based in Poland. The BNYM SA/NV Treasury risk team is responsible for measuring, analysing, monitoring and reporting the IRRBB, portfolio, capital and liquidity risks of Corporate Treasury activities within the BNYM SA/NV Risk Management function. This role will report into BNYM SA/NV Head of Treasury Risk and will work closely with the International IRRBB Treasury Risk as well as the International Treasury risk teams, Corporate and Legal Entity Treasury and Finance's functions.

Job Purpose:

The aim of the role is to provide professional, value added and efficient treasury risk resource and service through supporting the processes for identification, analysis, monitoring and escalation of IRRBB exposure, resulting from the Corporate Treasury and Portfolio Management activity of BNY Mellon SA/NV and in general from Banking Book activities.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Challenge and review the IRRBB risk identification process.
  • Provide analysis, challenge and review of the IRRBB process regarding EVE, NII, earnings and IRRBB VaR as well as other related banking book risks, e.g. banking book FX positions (output and underlying assumptions).
  • Perform limit calibration for IRRBB metrics.
  • Produce internal risk reporting on legal entity level to challenge first line report and for senior management and committee review. Support consolidation at EMEA and BNYM Group level of risk reporting of the Legal Entity.
  • Support the continued review of the Corporate Treasury framework for IRRBB (models and processes).
  • Collaborate with BNYM SA/NV, International and Corporate Treasury risk teams (e.g. Liquidity, portfolio and capital risk) in order to assess cross risks and related impacts on the area of oversight.
  • Collaborate and align with Corporate and International Treasury IRRBB risk teams for EMEA and BNYM Group's IRRBB oversight.
  • Attend and participate to BNYM / Group committees as required for IRRBB matters.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • The role requires a thorough understanding of financial markets; banking book management of interest rate, FX, fixed income and money market trading and investment instruments, and the detailed process by which interest rate risks are measured and monitored.
  • Understanding of interest rate risks (re-pricing risk, yield curve risk, basis risk and optionality), credit spread risk, FX risk and hedging techniques of interest rate risks.
  • Understanding of interest rate risk (behavioral) models, sensitivities and metrics.
  • Professional knowledge of MS Excel and Tableau.
  • Programming and database skills desired (e.g. VBA, Python, R, SQL).
  • Attention to detail, inquisitive and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively (oral, written).
  • Fluency in English, both conversational and written.
  • Master's degree in a numerate discipline required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience on IRRBB /Market risk required.
  • Treasury market risk and asset and liability management experience desired.
