BNY Mellon Marketing & Communications

It's an exciting time to join the BNY Mellon Marketing & Communications team. Our team is focused on delivering brand recognition, growth, increased client loyalty and employee engagement. We are a world-class, integrated marketing and communications organization, aligned around the needs of our clients and the industry.

Role description and opportunities

BNY Mellon seeks an experienced Financial Writer to join our expanding editorial content team. In this challenging role, you will have a front row seat to what moves 20% of the world's investable assets as well as the collateral, payment and trading flows that the bank services-differentiating us from the rest of Wall Street and giving us an aerial view of the forces shaping today's markets. (We are a Hybrid Work Model - requires 3 days in the office). This position is located in New York, NY.

You will be adept at taking some of the trends that we are seeing from those flows and translating them into blogs, short-form stories, longform articles, podcasts, video bites, infographics and data bombs that showcase our unique perspective and provide deeper context on the latest market developments. Some of the content you write, script and produce will appear in our Aerial View magazine or be syndicated to other financial magazines; some of the output from your interviews will appear on social media in Aerial View "Bites"; and some of your content will be data-driven insights that we provide to clients, prospects or the media as an example of our thought leadership and unique vantage point.

BNY Mellon is redefining what a custodian can be for its clients, utilizing cutting edge thinking, innovative solutions and technology to introduce an unprecedented degree of sophistication and efficiency in the traditionally staid world of custody banking. The position will primarily require you to draft original content from material and data generated by our industry experts across Markets, Treasury Services, Pershing, Collateral Management, Investment Management, Asset Servicing and Digital.

The position demands a versatile writer, capable of switching between an editorial style and data-driven thought leadership. In addition to crafting engaging content for a variety of audiences, you may also be called upon to write marketing campaign copy, research papers, awards submissions, or communications for media and senior executives. The successful candidate must possess a strong creative streak and be able to think imaginatively and originally about how they present copy in a visually arresting manner that seizes the reader's attention. You also will not be intimidated by the challenge of taking dense technical material and simplifying it for a general readership.

Sitting in one of the enterprise's most dynamic teams, with executive level exposure across all business lines, you will not be afraid to take the initiative to improve our editorial and data-led platforms-giving us results that will change how the bank is perceived. You'll be expected to work autonomously in seeing your assignments through to completion, but you'll also be part of a small, fun, tightly knit team that works closely together with our colleagues across the enterprise. The position is ideal for someone looking to make their mark within an energetic and growing business. For the right candidate, this role is an opportunity to take your editorial career in an exciting new direction, with impactful results.
