We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Backend Developer to join our eFX Engineering team. This role is located in London - Hybrid.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Work closely with the eFX strat, trading, sales, and product teams to grow the BNY Mellon eFX platform by delivering new products and functionality
- Contribute to the engineering first culture of the eFX engineering team by helping improve the quality of both our architecture and development practices
- Be part of a small but focused team with opportunities to drive the future engineering direction of the team and take on significant ownership of areas of the eFX platform
- BS/MS degree in a STEM / Computer Science related field
- Strong Java development skills including experience with multi-threaded applications
- Experience of high-performance / low latency development.
- Experience working within, and delivering technology solutions, for the banking and financial services sector
- Familiarity with relational databases and SQL, including optimization
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as an integral part of an agile software development team
- High attention to detail and good analytical thinking
- Experience in eFX applications focusing on FX / FWD business is highly desirable
- Experience with FIX / ITCH / other common FX trading protocols is desirable
