About Business Principal, Sourcing - Senior Strategic Sourcing Leader

The Enterprise Sourcing Office (ESO) is responsible for the procurement of all global goods and services for the Bank of New York Mellon (BNY Mellon). The ESO Contracting - Professional Services team is responsible for the global strategic sourcing and procurement of Professional Services worldwide. We are responsible for competitively managing $X00M of spend, including negotiating with vendors, editing and managing contracts, partnering with internal stakeholders (e,g, legal, infosec, third party risk management, etc..).. Our objectives are to deliver maximum value and savings while be trusted advisor to our internal clients, and managing and simplifying a complex process. The current global team globally dispersed across the US (NY, Pittsburgh, Poland and India.

Standard Job Responsibilities

As a key member of Principal, Sourcing ( , you will:
  • Act as a senior leader within the The ESO Contracting - IT/Non IT - Professional Services category of spend ($1B+) reporting directly to Sourcing/Contracting leadership and/or the Category Director.
  • Ability to effective manage a portfolio of vendors and contracts, including the negotiation, contractual terms review/edit, and the contracting process

  • Review and negotiate complex supplier contracts across Professional Services with a focus Consulting Services engagements.
  • Effectively source Professional Services through competitive bid events including issuance of RFPs, RFxs, and leveraging e-auction tools.
  • Support Ad hoc expense management initiatives.
  • Respond to internal information requests related to the review of existing contracts and vendor relationships.
  • Identify and implement sourcing efficiencies across team.
Qualifications

Required/preferred experience and capabilities:
  • Commercial skills to understand business models T&M / Fixed / Managed Service
  • Experience managing RFx's, from simple to complex
  • This person will have strong financial acumen and experience in total cost of ownership and other financial decisions approaches
  • Ability to understand, manage and identify opportunities for savings or improving value
  • Ability to review requirements and translate into commercial contracting language
  • Understand the category and vendors in this space relevant to large enterprises.
  • Exceptional Client Relationship Management Skills
  • Experience leading a global cross-functional team/contributors in a matrix organization
  • Excellent Presentation and Communication Skills
  • Ability to explain and educate others on contract terms.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Undergraduate degree, If in Business or Supply Chain a plus
  • Experience with CLM with e-auction tools, S2P tools, excel, word and power point
  • Experience with Ivalua Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) Tool a plus
  • Banking related experience a plus
