Overview

The Bank of New York Mellon seeks a Principal, Mainframe Developer in New York, New York, to consult with internal business groups to provide high-level application software development services or technical support. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field, and nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience must include: Converting BRD/FRD to design for application services and data modeling using tools including Visio and Confluence; Applying design patterns and object-oriented design and principles for implementation of scalable, high performing and robust applications with a focus on security, stability, and resiliency; Building and re-engineering applications with tech components including Mainframe, JCL, COBOL, REXX, Java, Drools, and messaging protocols including Kafka and MQ; Performing database development and performance tuning using SQL DB including Oracle, DB2 and SQL Server; Implementing continuous delivery and integration tools based on JIRA and Veracode security scan according to Waterfall and Agile software development principles; Performing unit testing, component and system integration testing, and providing UAT and operation support; Performing capacity planning to support ongoing and future application demands and applying required changes to application and database components; and Supervising efforts associated with new development projects using distributed processing technologies. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite. Five percent (5%) travel required, domestic. Salary range: $158,386.00 - $242,000.00/yr.
