We're seeking a future team member for the role of Lead Analyst, External Reporting to join our Regulatory Reporting Change Management team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA- HYBRID

Data Quality and Data Governance is a data leader role in the Regulatory Reporting Change Management group.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Clearly define data requirements in the business context. This includes data sourcing requirements and data quality business rules.
  • Collaborate with Sources, Technology, Business, Finance, etc. SMEs to understand data consumptions and data usability.
  • Perform root cause analysis for data quality errors, research and determine scope and complexity of issues and identify the steps for remediation.
  • Organize and host cross functional working groups; point of contact for critical data remediation projects.
  • Construct process and data workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing business requirements.
  • Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements.
  • Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes.
  • Customize and enhance data quality dashboard based on stakeholder requests.
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports.
  • Create informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Measuring and reporting to management on the progress of data quality improvement.
  • Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time data issues.
  • Identify areas of business process improvement and make recommendations for long-term solutions.
  • The Data Leader works with the Data Stewards to develop and detail underlying data contracts.
  • The Data Leader will drive and perform research and resolution for data issues; develop strong relationships with line-of-business points of contact and technology partners; serve as a primary resource for management and oversight.
  • The Data Leader will manage the associated issue management processes; implement/perform data quality definition, testing and validation.
  • This role will work across the finance teams to ensure our data standards are accomplished within defined time frames, owning the quality of the data content.
  • The incumbent must have strong accounting skills and will be responsible for investigation, documentation, and resolution of issues identified in the reporting process. Leverages regulatory reporting techniques to achieve business objectives.
  • Processes complex financial transactions and identifies and analyses exceptions. Captures day-to-day performance metrics and participates in rotating assignments, within the regional and global service centers.
  • Builds strategic relationships to influence at all levels of the organization. Liaises with internal and external regulators to ensure compliance to prescribed standards. Supervises, motivates, and guides more junior external reporting roles. No direct reports. Provides technical advice/guidance to less experienced External Reporting roles as needed.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Degree in math, engineering, statistics, computational finance or economics preferred.
  • Work toward or completion of MBA, CFA, or CPA/CA preferred.
  • Relevant years of total work experience preferred.
  • Advanced data profiling experience utilizing SQL skill with financial industry experience.
  • Knowledge of the structuring of data environments and applications that use big data processes is a preferred.
  • Some experience with Business Intelligence data management and visualization applications specific to Hadoop big data and the ability to use SQL/Hive and other computer languages used in big data for analysis and structuring is preferred.
  • Competency with some leading data profiling tools such as SQL, Power BI, Python or other data querying tools
  • Axiom reporting platform experience is a plus
  • Competency with data governance tools (Collibra, IDQ)
  • Experience with issue management systems
  • Strong organization, communication, and presentation skills
  • Program management skill preferred
  • Familiar with logical data model
  • Experience with reference data and master data preferred
