At BNY Mellon, our data-centric service model helps provide clients with clean, scrubbed information to support the investment process, from post-trade execution to client communications. Our Investment Operations solution is a full lifecycle of investment activities through an integrated data, technology and operations model that supports all product types. Offering a full spectrum of services: trade support, derivatives and collateral management, bank loan support, investment book of record (IBOR), investment performance, and data management.

The Funds Accounting Team is at the center our service model to maintain our clients' Investment Book of Record (IBOR). We offer flexibility to meet our clients' accounting requirements while being adaptive to their workflows and specific business requirements. We utilize various reconciliations to enable consistent data to be available to our clients' front office investment management process.

Role Overview

Under minimal supervision, performs moderately complex functions supporting accounting, trading and client services activities. Work in a fast paced, dynamic and global team environment. Prioritize and execute multiple deliverables within a given time frame on a daily basis. Reviews moderate volume of documents to established procedures are followed. Leverages some knowledge of processes of procedures to confirm findings.

Role-Specific Responsibilities:
  • Process Daily Fund Trades for daily liquidity funds
  • Process / Reprocess Monthly fund trades
  • Delivery of Prelim and Trade Date +1 Fund trade confirms to relevant parties
  • Quality control of finalized daily fund trade bookings and fund trade confirms
  • Support and process complex Fund and SMA account events
  • Daily GAV Adjustment for 2 Funds to fund administrator
  • Process daily estimated and final NAV adjustments in IBOR for non unitized funds
  • Triage and resolve custody cash breaks raised by recon team
  • Deliver fund and investor cash activity reports to shadow middle office for compare
  • Release top day pending capital activity in IBOR
  • Fund Position Reconciliations to fund administrator
  • End of day IBOR checks
  • Research reconciliation differences with other middle office teams, custodians and prime brokers and work urgently to drive to solution.
  • Demonstrate ability to escalate items timely while providing necessary information for further action
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • High school/secondary school or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Bachelor's degree a plus,.
  • Experience in accounting support or the mutual fund industry is preferred.
  • 2-3 years or more total work experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications (In order of importance)
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of Excel
  • Remain organized and be able to handle multiple priorities, while keeping current on emails
  • Work independently but also be a helpful teammate.
  • Comfortable asking questions to gain understanding on any area where understanding is limited
