We're seeking a future team member in the role of Specialist Database and ETL Pentaho Engineer to join our Data Operations Engineering team. This role is in CITY, Pittsburgh, PA - HYBRID.

Data Operations Engineering, part of BNYM Global Enterprise Data Management, are looking for a Lead Database and ETL Pentaho Engineer to work within their Data Insights and Engineering team. We are a team that drive business results using data as the actual product or service .

Data Engineering are focused on developing high quality, efficient ETL that integrates with our core systems and supports our focus on bringing efficiency to operational processes and removing manual effort. Our challenges include building pipelines to ETL data from multiple sources, improve database queries and ETL performance, all while ensuring our solutions are fully automated, cost effective and scalable. Our team build re-useable micro services and operate continuous improvement of existing processes.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Your role within the team would see you working closely with our business analysis and operations team from start to finish, analysing, designing code, and developing tests within the ETL environment.
  • You would have a thorough knowledge of the software development lifecycle and would work to develop flow charts, layouts, and documentation to satisfy the requirements and solutions.
  • You would l everage existing products/functionality and promote reuse, work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.
  • You would collaborate closely with all the other members of the team to take shared responsibility for the overall efforts that the team has committed to. You would collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions .
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
  • 2-6 years of experience in software development required, 2+ years in Pentaho ETL tooling, or equivalent would be considered.
  • 2+ years' experience with advanced SQL (analytical queries) preferred PL-SQL and Oracle
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
