  • We're seeking a future team member in the role of Cyber Security Analytics and Data Engineer to join our Information Security Division team. This role is remote as long as the individual is comfortable supporting EST schedule.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Work with cross functional stakeholders to understand problem/requirements and identify platform and provide solution on the architecture approaches for data engineering and analytics.
  • Conduct proof of concepts of data engineering, transformation, and analytics on various on-prem and cloud solutions (e.g GCP)
  • Build data pipeline from disparate systems, transform, and build data models for analytics utilizing API, FTP, ETLs etc.
  • Build and socialize visualization models with cross functional stakeholders.
  • Look for innovation and creativity in technology design.
  • Deliver quality code within controlled environments using formal release management and continuous integration structures.
  • Responsible for identifying and developing Insider Threat Detection Usecase.
  • Responsible for understanding Insider threat detection landscape and applying innovative solutions to address threats using analytics.
  • Day to day management of playbook contents lifecycle, content creation, testing and tuning.
  • Troubleshooting challenging and complex issues with data movement/availability/lineage/handling.
  • Present technical concepts and create technical documentation.
  • Being involved in system design, platform management, and capacity planning.
  • Data Platform infrastructure management

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

Required Technical / Professional Expertise:
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following: Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript or any other programming languages related to front end development.
  • Background in IT infrastructure ecosystem that includes hybrid and public cloud architecture (GCP preferred)
  • Proficiency in data reporting/mining with query or search languages such as SQL, NoSQL, Splunk SPL, etc.
  • Experience in data engineering, data loading and transformation and working with metrics and analysis of data in different formats
  • Formal education and experience in visualization theory and models
  • Having the mindset of Engineering, automation, and maximizing efficiency
  • Experience with Splunk and UEBA tools.
  • Experience working with and/or troubleshooting Data Lineage workflows
  • Solid understanding of Insider threat detections, network security and traffic analysis.
  • Partnering with Cyber Operations (i.e., ITO, SOC, IR, etc.) and Technology Services (i.e., Admins, Networks, etc.) teams to integrate value of cyber technologies
Preferred Technical/Professional Experience:
  • Understanding and integrating new technologies such as cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred) using APIs and ETLs.
  • SW configuration framework (e.g., ansible, chef, salt), and devops lifecycle tools (e.g., git, subversion, artifactory)
  • Experience with logging systems like Splunk, ELK, syslog
  • Debugging / optimizing code
  • Solid understanding of Risk culture
  • Solid understanding of Systems Controls and Risk Reduction techniques
  • Experience with other Cyber Security Tools
  • Consults on a senior level and provides professional support for major components of the company's information security infrastructure.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of security architecture, standards, procedures, and guidelines for multiple platforms in diverse system environments.
  • Consults with the business and operational infrastructure personnel regarding new and existing technologies.
  • Reviews and analyzes highly complex data and information to provide insights, conclusions and actionable recommendations.
  • Recommends course of action to mitigate risk and ensures that appropriate standards are established and published.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred
  • 10-12 years of experience in information security or related technology experience required experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
