We're seeking a future team member in the role of Cloud Security Engineer to join our Information Security Team. This role is located in New York, NY- Hybrid

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

As a Cloud Security Engineer on the Information Security Team, you will design, develop, and build cloud security control solutions to support innovative applications. You will contribute to the design, development, implementation, and continuous hygiene of security controls, policy requirements, and industry regulatory and compliance requirements.

The ideal candidate should have significant engineering experience with multiple cloud providers, especially Azure. This includes cloud security, cryptography, cloud native key management, IAM, networking, and storage. You'll evaluate and assess technical issues and risks by designing and building innovative cloud solutions to broad and complex information security challenges related to business strategiesYou will be responsible for collaborating and communicating with various business partners on the emerging security state and risks across information security.
  • Develop strategic and tactical security solutions engaging with application developers throughout the full development life-cycle - from inception and design to deployment, operation, and iterative development.
  • Design and drive cloud security implementations and function as a cyber security leader for cloud-native environments.
  • Develop and implement cloud security deployment models using Infrastructure as Code and automation.
  • Develop, cascade and enforce engineering best practices using modern SDLC that enables CI/CD and favors automation, auditability, automated testing, infrastructure and policy as code
  • Provide technical leadership in the design of highly complex cloud systems
  • Architect cloud security solutions from inception through production
  • Apply key security standards such as NIST, CIS, ISO, or CSA STAR and develop security reference architectures, including network schematics, blueprints, patterns, and other types of architectural documentation
  • Drive specific platform roadmaps including analysis, design, development and implementation plans based upon best practices
  • Ensure solutions are designed and implemented for high availability, scalability, security and supportability
  • Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud security initiatives, providing associated training as required.
  • Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and solve issues proactively.
To be successful in the role, we're seeking the following:
  • Specialized, 3+ years of experience in cloud security engineering with 4+ years in financial enterprise security
  • Outstanding teamwork, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Curious mind!
  • Expertise in Cloud, Container and serverless security (deep familiarity with cloud-native security for at least one platform)
  • Experience with software and architectures with development experience in at least one programming language
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with scripting and Infrastructure-as-code languages (Python, Terraform and more)
  • Experience with cyber security processes and tools (e.g. for scanning, monitoring, threat detection. SOC analysis and response)
  • A bachelor's or a graduate degree in engineering or computer science
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred
  • 3-4 years of software development experience and 2-3 years of experience in information security
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM)
  • Relevant automation certifications (e.g., Hashicorp or RedHat Ansible)
