We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Specialist, Accounting to join our Polish Branch Controller team. This role is located in Wroclaw - HYBRID.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • You will become the EB Finance single point of contact tax related matters
  • Prepare all CiT documentation to the Tax Compliancy Provider for the in scope European entities
  • Prepare the CiT prepayments
  • Report and explain the CiT positions of the entities to Group Tax and the relevant senior Finance managers and CFO of the EB
  • Assist in the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are achieved and the financial accounts are closed in a timely and accurate manner meeting BNY Mellon's reporting requirements.
  • General Ledger Accounting: Assist with the general ledger accounting processes for payroll, pensions, general expenses, accruals and sub-ledger/general ledger reconciliations and related control activities.Adding value in providing technical accounting support to the offshore team in India and ensure that journal entries are correctly prepared and posted. Act as the BE GAAP coordinator for the BNYM EB and be accountable for all BE GAAP adjustments in the EB entities. Document all BE GAAP standards and adjustment requirements with the support of the Belgian Finance Department.
  • Intercompany accounting: Assist in all inter-company related process and related reporting
  • Reconciliation: Support BNYM EB balance sheet reconciliations, ensure the remediation for reconciling items and escalate appropriately
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • Part or Newly Qualified accountant / Tax certifications or have gained an equivalent level through relevant experience.
  • Proven track record with CiT declarations in different European locations
  • Experience working with general ledger systems, preferably Oracle or similar reporting tools.
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Knowledge of different GAAP standards (US GAAP, IFRS, BE GAAP, ...) and regulatory reporting in Banking or Finance could be an advantage
  • Good general IT knowledge and experience.
