Bloomberg is looking for a dynamic, self-starting and collegial reporter to cover events in Israel and the Palestinian territories. This is a high-profile position at a time when Israel is facing some of its greatest challenges ever, including war, internal fissures over religion and inequality and the future of the occupied areas.

The position will be based in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem.

We'll trust you to:

  • Break news, write analyses and features.
  • Work with colleagues covering the West Bank and Gaza as well as reporters across the Middle East, the US and beyond.
  • Pitch in to help our team of about half a dozen where needed
  • Collaborate with Bloomberg colleagues circling the globe and across teams covering energy, finance, climate and markets.
  • Integrate your reporting with Bloomberg media, which includes our magazines, newsletters, videos, TV, podcasts and more.

You'll need to have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in journalism and a proven track record of producing insightful, compelling and well-written work.
  • The ability to forge sources in Israel and the Palestinian territories and a proven ability to deliver scoops of both fact and mood
  • A solid understanding of Israeli society as well as the political history and dynamics of both Israel and the Palestinian territories and will be able to draw links across geopolitics
  • Fluency in Hebrew (Fluency in Arabic is a plus)
  • Interest in and knowledge of financial markets and tech are a plus.
