Business Unit Overview

BlackRock's Nordic iSW team help asset managers in the Nordic region to build better portfolios. We deliver our market leading range of active, index and alternative investment products to our client base, whilst enabling institutional clients to use our suite of index investment tools to replace individual securities, to take short-term market views, to invest cash rapidly, to execute more efficiently than swaps, futures, or individual bonds, to take long-term core positions and to construct efficient portfolios.

The market is undergoing a period of significant change, driven by a combination of regulatory and structural factors. As we grow our presence and investment platform in the Nordics, we are looking for a professional with 5-10 years of experience from the industry to focus primarily on the coverage of our key clients within the Asset Management segment across the iSW business. This includes the distribution of BlackRock's active, alternative and index strategies. The person will be part of the AM team engaging in day to day coverage of key clients engaging in our on-going business as well as helping to build and drive new pipeline opportunities across the segment. The person will report to the Head of Asset Management segment in the Nordics.

Key responsibilities

Client strategy
  • Manage key client relationships identifying new pipeline opportunities
  • Help build out BlackRock's Nordic Asset Management book of business in line with firm's best practices, taking ownership of performance.
  • Work closely with BlackRock's investment teams to execute on product priorities and expand specialism within Nordic iSW.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for strategic partnerships and portfolio solutions to support new and existing client relationships and cross-functional projects.
  • Independently and collaboratively undertake research of Nordic Asset Management landscape, contributing to the development of BLK products & solutions to meet evolving needs of our clients.


Knowledge/Experience
  • Proven robust and lengthy track record of managing relationships with sophisticated clients.
  • Strong general financial services knowledge. This should include a deep insight into the business models, needs and wants of regional investors, and their business drivers from operational and regulatory perspectives.
  • Detailed and broad technical product and market knowledge across capital markets, asset classes, and investment vehicles.
  • In-depth knowledge of the ETF ecosystem; product, capital markets, portfolio implementation.
  • Strong project management skills preferred with proven ability to deliver complex client engagements.


Skills/Qualifications
  • This role requires a true sales and service mentality and a flexible approach to suit market demands with strong judgement, consulting and negotiating skills, as well as deep and proven client engagement and sales skills.
  • Ability to operate and communicate at executive level - both internally and with clients.
  • Ability to navigate through a complex matrix structure successfully.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with high ethical and quality standards, integrity and drive.
  • Fluent in English.
