About this role

The Aladdin Implementation Group is responsible for the installation and deployment of Aladdin at BlackRock Solutions clients. Aladdin implementations are high profile initiatives which require team members to have senior level exposure and play an active role in transforming client organizations; a typical Aladdin implementation is at least as much about processes and implementing change as it is about technology. We help clients achieve challenging strategic objectives which range from streamlining operations to integrating business lines to modernizing their overall investment process. BlackRock's implementation model is unique in the sense that we take full responsibility for the client going live on our solution. It also means that we develop a true partnership with our clients that continues to grow post go live

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

We are looking for a candidate to work as part of a global team that supports client transformations and implementations. Primarily this will involve managing Interface/Integration channels and Data Conversions but will also require having an overall understanding of the project. During the implementation the candidate will gain a full understanding of the client business needs and design the desired solutions that enable a seamless integration into the clients architecture. The candidate will also be expected to support clients integrating with Aladdin's cloud-based solutions, accessible through Aladdin Studio.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Own and manage the Interfaces Channel and Data Conversion channels within Aladdin Implementation projects


  • Own and manage Aladdin Studio onboardings and support the deployment of Aladdin's cloud-based services and enablement of clients in Aladdin's Data Cloud


  • Liaise with relevant client counterparts, including senior technology managers that are responsible for delivering the required builds


  • Work directly with the client to create the necessary plans and trackers, as well as the coordination of resources and project updates


  • Lead client system future state architecture sessions to drive out project scope and challenges; lead and assist in Interface design and data mappings


  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of Aladdin functionality and workflows to ensure the correct interface solutions are utilized


  • Work closely with the client and Aladdin Product Managers to support client development needs


  • Participate in Aladdin business development activities assisting in system validations and due diligence meetings with prospective clients

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years' work experience in the financial services industry; familiarity with buy-side investment management process a plus


  • Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly to clients


  • Well organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities with a hands on approach


  • Past experience in implementing financial management systems at external clients (portfolio/trading systems, risk platforms, operation tools)


  • Familiarity with capital markets instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives)


  • Excellent creative, analytical and computer skills (ability to navigate UNIX, understand scripting code and confident basic SQL querying, is required).


  • Experience of integrating financial systems using data interfaces and other messaging protocols; experience in cloud-based computing and Snowflake a plus


  • Expected to travel 2-3 days per week, including international opportunities
