Make Your Mark:

As a Software Developer Engineer in Test, you will play a crucial role in the success of our company by contributing to, as well as driving, high-quality releases and value-delivery to our customers. In this role, you will be testing web-based applications and RESTful APIs to support our high-transaction and big-data SaaS applications. Your attention to detail, tenacity, creative problem-solving and forward thinking will directly impact the company's success, as well as the success of your peers across the organization. By following and evangelizing quality standards, as well as overall SDLC processes as they relate to quality, you will be able to affect meaningful change in the organization and help drive our culture to a quality and customer-first mentality.

You'll Get To:

  • Author detailed test plans, testcases and maintain them by closely collaborating with all stakeholders.
  • Evolve the testing process to ensure tests are strong customer-centric and representative of real-world scenarios.
  • Provide strong end-to-end testing and nonfunctional such as performance, scalability, and load testing.
  • Conduct in-depth root cause analysis of test failures, customer-reported defects, and issues related to performance, scalability, and document prevention steps.
  • Periodically review test coverage gap analysis and improve the test coverage.
  • Automate manual test scenarios to improve efficiency and ensure stability.
  • Address and resolve issues identified during automated test runs across various environments promptly.
  • Perform code reviews for SDETs to maintain quality standards.
  • Work in tandem with QE, product, and engineering leaders, along with other stakeholders, to clarify user stories, product requirements, technical details, and acceptance criteria, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
  • Proactively identify and address gaps, issues, or concerns, suggesting and implementing improvements to processes and workflows.
  • Embrace and promote Agile and Scrum methodologies daily, championing the Quality Engineering process.
  • Conduct post-deployment release validation to ensure the deployed features function as intended.
  • Develop prototypes and proof of concept to assess new technologies.

What You'll Bring:

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in test automation development using Java/C#, out of which 5+ years of hands-on experience in for Web-based applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related disciplines.
  • Exceptional in Object oriented programming languages such as C#, Java with strong understanding of algorithms and data structures.
  • In depth knowledge of test automation (API, UI) with strong programming experience.
  • Prior hands-on experience with tools such as Selenium, JIRA, Postman, are strongly preferred.
  • A good command of SQL, capable of handling stored procedures, understanding data models, and navigating transactional flows.
  • Practical experience in testing web applications, SaaS platforms, RESTful APIs, and SQL databases.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous deployment tools such as Jenkins.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with engineers, SDETs, and Dev Ops/SREs, as well as other teams across the organization.
  • Creativity and a willingness to explore new technologies.
  • Positively adapts to changes with a flexible mindset.
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in task prioritization.
  • Strong ownership, pride of work, and ability to take things across the finish line.
  • Prior working experience in Agile, specifically SCRUM, is preferred.
  • A preference for candidates with experience in Model-based Testing (MBT) and the testing of Machine Learning/Generative AI models.
  • Should be able work in different geographical time zones, depending on the need with offshore teams.

We're Even More Excited If You Have:

  • FinTech or Financial services domain background
  • Good knowledge of internet security issues in software design and code.
  • Experience with ERP systems like MS Dynamics-365, Oracle, NetSuite, Intacct is a plus
  • Experience with open source tools.
  • Experience with public cloud architectures (Azure, ASW or GCP) and cloud native services.
  • Experience designing and scaling high performance systems.
  • Experience with container management solutions like Mesos, Kubernetes or Nomad.
  • Experience with API gateway, identity management, authentication, messaging platforms (e.g: Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ), workflow orchestration tools, job scheduling and search.
  • FinTech or Financial services domain background.
  • Prior working experience in Scrum, or other Agile development methodologies, is preferred.
  • Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, JavaScript Frameworks, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with data integration and middleware software tools is a plus

Salary Range:

USD $133,000.00 - USD $178,000.00

Pay Transparency Statement:

Placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant's prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, BlackLine also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans.
