Make Your Mark:

This position is responsible for closely working with Product Owners, Developers, DBAs, Architects, Operations, and Quality Assurance personnel to gather non-functional requirements, develop and execute performance test scripts, and analyze application performance issues across BlackLine application and services.

You'll Get To:

  • Driving performance related initiatives (framework definition, best practices and KPI's) across BlackLine.
  • Collaborate with Development and QA Automation groups to ensure consistent improvement in application performance in the development cycle.
  • Collaborate with Production Operations on infrastructure performance analysis and correlate with end-user experience.
  • Collaborate with technical and business leadership to define, collect, analyze and publish key application performance metrics.
  • Define, develop and conduct performance tests on critical functionality, isolating bottlenecks, and fine-tuning performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Creating comprehensive benchmark tests for identifying application and system performance.
  • Analyzing results and provides comprehensive reporting and works closely with architects, developers and operations team to log defects for performance requirements that are not met.
  • Identify action items to resolve issues and improve performance and availability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve monitoring tools and techniques for application performance.
  • Provide trend analysis over time and forecast performance bottlenecks before they manifest in production.

What You'll Bring:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, CloudTest, LoadComplete or other similar tools.
  • Experience with a variety of infrastructure monitoring and operations tools for Windows Servers, IIS and .NET applications, MS SQL Server, VMWare, networking, load balancing, SAN storage, and Internet access.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering or administration field, covering both Windows and Linux/Unix platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of and experience with web technologies and architecture including, but not limited to, HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, Ajax, REST, and SAML.
  • History and desire to continually learn new tools and technologies for tracking, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale web applications.
  • Solid analytical skills and knowledge of statistics, with the ability to quickly and accurately identify trends in statistical data.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively summarize and present data analysis, root cause action items and resolutions in person and using slides, for multiple audiences (i.e. technical, managerial, and business).
  • Outstanding hands-on problem-solving skills, technical leadership and mentoring qualities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise-grade production environment.
  • Previous experience with a variety of performance testing tools and technologies.

Salary Range:

USD $133,000.00 - USD $178,000.00

Pay Transparency Statement:

Placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant's prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, BlackLine also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans.
