The Supply Chain Lead - AUS/NZ is responsible for defining and maintaining the standard processes to meet the supply chain/logistics needs of the regional businesses in Australia and New Zealand in close alignment with global processes.

The scope encompasses defining locally customized logistics services, including the importation and distribution of product in Australia and New Zealand.
The role is responsible and SPOC for internal order management, finished goods importation, managing deviations, tenders/letters of reservation and leading the local sales & operations process in Australia and New Zealand. This is achieved through working closely with key stakeholders (e.g. Planning, Quality, Commercial, Finance, Regulatory, S&OP, Trade Compliance)

The Supply Chain Lead - AUS/NZ manages the efficient, uninterrupted flow of goods, services, and information throughout the commercial supply chain in compliance with the applicable procedures, laws and regulations. The Supply Chain Lead - AUS/NZ acts as a trusted business partner, building relationships with and acting as a key resource and escalation point for internal and external customers. The role works closely with the Commercial, Finance & Planning teams to ensure on time in full supply and the ultimate goal of the Supply Chain Lead - AUS/NZ is to ensure desired customer service levels, local planning alignment, order management, launch timelines and continuous product supply are met

The role routinely identifies and communicates any supply risks to management and supports recommendations and implementation of corrective actions to minimize supply risks.

In addition, the Supply Chain Lead - AUS/NZ analyzes cross-functional and logistics processes and proactively identifies/ implements solutions to improve the safety, service, quality and efficiency of the supply chain.

  • The role plays a leading role in the development of the S&OP process, working with cross functional teams to align on an agreed S&OP
  • This position is able to deal with high levels of ambiguity and complexity, anticipates potential risks, develops corresponding contingency plans, and is capable of acting proactively in order to support strategic and complex decisions. Influencing and negotiation skills are critical for the role, as well as the ability to function independently within the Biogen affiliate. The role will be a critical contributor to the success of the affiliate and will be expected to be a direct partner to Affiliate management.
  • While the Supply Chain Lead - AUS/NZ is not the primary point of contact for operational day-to-day business in other APAC markets, the role is responsible to contribute to and or lead projects for markets other than AUS/NZ in the APAC region. This includes but not limited to established and new markets, existing or pipeline portfolio and for projects that go across functions in Biogen (beyond traditional supply chain projects).
  • The role is expected to act as a supply chain subject matter expert, and work with global subject matter experts such as serialization, regulatory, quality and other core Biogen functions to build capabilities in the region. This includes representing global supply chain at audits and/or regulatory inspections
  • This role may necessitate occasional evening work outside of standard office hours to accommodate meetings with stakeholders in different time zones

Accountability Description

  • Oversee and manage daily supply chain activities for Australia and New Zealand, which encompasses: importation, order management, customer service, shipment management, sales administrative activities, creation and review of shipping documentation, reporting sales/cost analysis, interfaces errors resolution, processing claims, returns, destructions, FOCs. Also, processing the necessary ERP transactions according to standard operating procedures and in adherence to SOX requirements.
  • Coordinates and/or acts as SME for projects or initiatives impacting other APAC markets. It includes, business model changes or assessments, portfolio and/or geographic expansion and contractual optimization.
  • Drive efficiency in working with Partners/Suppliers and Customers, whilst balancing cost effectiveness, quality of the services provided and customer expectations. Analyze cross functional and logistics processes and identify/implement solutions in order to improve the quality and efficiency of the supply chain and to ensure desired customer service levels are met
  • Coordinate the demand forecast and S&OP processes within the AUS/NZ affiliate.
  • Work with Quality Assurance to promote and maintain GMP/GDP compliance throughout the logistics network within the scope of the Logistics Team. It includes management of change control, exceptions handling, investigation of exceptions, determination of root causes, implementation CAPA, etc. Drive closure as per due dates and business criticality.
  • Represent Global Supply Chain within the AUS/NZ affiliate and partner with critical internal stakeholders to drive affiliate results.
  • Support ad hoc requests from other functions for filing, change control, trade compliance, EHS, and other purposes.
  • Ensure that training and archiving are up to date.

Requirements;

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years work experience in Supply Chain role with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry
  • Deep cross functional knowledge in logistics, finance, commercial, quality and operations/Supply Chain processes.
  • Proven experience in working cross functionally, leveraging their skills to influence and drive results within the matrix organization
  • Exceptional team player and business partner with the ability to develop strong networks across the company and with external partners
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills to attain buy in from different stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience reducing complex subjects to key points. Ability to work in fast paced environments and great organizational skills to effectively balance a broad range of projects and tasks in parallel
  • Prior experience in customs brokers management is an advantage.
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or similar education required
