About This Role

Responsible for management of the Corporate Affairs content editorial calendar, content planning, and production schedule, overseeing key written and visual content production, specifically aligning and aggregating content to ensure balance against message and business priorities outlined in the communications plan and compliance with Biogen’s brand guidelines and positioning.

Overseeing content on Biogen websites, intranet, portal, and new/social media such as LinkedIn and X required for the effective and concise communication of key programs and initiatives; to effectively tell the Biogen story and help drive consistent communications efforts that support, promote and protect Biogen’s strategic business objectives, reputation and enhance stakeholder perception and competitive position.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with and influence internal business partners and stakeholders at all levels of the company to shape stories and direct content to appropriate channels
  • Manage the publish editorial calendar and ensure appropriate cadence of new content
  • Produce interesting, timely and quality content, in the styles required to support the spectrum of subject matter and key communications channels utilized by communications, specifically web and digital capability to combine written and visual content to best effect for the intranet, website etc.
  • Contribute to building a high-performing Corporate Affairs team that delivers best in class content and messaging for Biogen, aggregate content to drive focus, balance and consistency to effectively convey the Biogen brand
  • Provide the overview, framework and “voice” for key communications across main distribution channels, including web and digital
  • Contribute to effectively aligning business and corporate communications content and messaging with investor relations, financial, corporate image, reputation and social responsibility positioning, to support the brand
  • Track measurements to ensure effectiveness of all communications and appropriate ROI
  • Help leverage digital technology/communications as needed for issues/crises management
  • Act as resident regional expert on digital and social media communications best practices, tools and platform for corporate/enterprise communications
  • Provides counsel and expertise on related policy/procedures.
  • Identify and implement process efficiencies that will improve content development and publishing processes. Contributes new thinking and best practices in content production and distribution from within and outside industry

Who You Are

You have a keen eye for detail and the aesthetics of beautiful content, excellent writing and editing skills and strong experience using digital communications in corporate environments, including content creation/curation and site management. You are able to balance multiple priorities and deliver programs and tactics in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. You are a self starter - driven and incredibly detail-oriented; strong client focus, excellent team player, exceptional interpersonal communication skills. You are able to handle highly confidential information with sensitivity, integrity and good judgment.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree in public relations, integrated marketing, communications, Journalism or equivalent
•    5+ years of relevant experience and proven track record of success in managing communication content and schedules which protect corporate reputation, citizenship, crisis planning and company values
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with knowledge of emerging communications trends and technologies
•    Strong business acumen with the ability to anticipate company and team needs

Preferred Skills
•    Experience in the healthcare/bio-pharma industry a plus
