Overview

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Director Analytics, Real World Evidence Strategy and Analytics to join our team in Cambridge, MA. In this role you will lead a team of biostatisticians supporting post-approval retrospective and prospective observational studies. This role reports into the Head, Real World Evidence Strategy and Analytics within Medical Evidence and Outcomes Research (MEOR).

Primary Responsibilities

As Director Analytics, you will:

  • Ensure that high quality biostatistical and pharmacoepidemiology support is provided by the Analytics team
  • Ensure that Analytics staff implement innovative, rigorous biostatistical methods to meet study objectives.
  • Supervise staff activities to ensure high quality of deliverables.
  • Overseeing career progression of Analytics staff in terms of observational study and biostatistical skills, consulting ability, and understanding of administrative processes.
  • Work with colleagues within MEOR to allocate biostatistical resources with appropriate level of experience based on project requirements.
  • Collaborate with external entities (e.g. thought leaders, academic entities and vendors) in the analysis of real world studies
  • Play a leading role in planning of size and composition of analytics team, recruiting high quality candidates, and in leading interview process.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives regarding RWE

Qualifications / Skills

  • Thorough understanding of biostatistics, pharmacoepidemiology, and outcomes research methods in RWE studies.
  • Expertise in pharmacoepidemiology study designs
  • Experience with secondary data sources including registries, claims and EMR.
  • Knowledge of drug development (clinical and post-approval) and understanding of drug development as a continuum.
  • Programming experience with R, SAS or other statistical software packages
  • Experience with ICH GCP, regulatory (e.g. EMA and FDA) and HTA (e.g. NICE and HAS) guidelines.
  • Able to write and present information effectively
  • Able to explain methodology and consequences of decisions in lay terms
  • Able to manage many projects simultaneously, to manage conflicting priorities, and to be flexible when priorities change
  • Able to manage, mentor and direct the personal development of staff
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize.

Education

  • MS or PhD in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Outcomes Research, Economics or equivalent, and an MS with 12 years or PhD with 10 years working on observational studies.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $230,000.00-$316,000.00

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
