Senior Data Analyst - Internal Audit
About This Role:
As a Senior Data Analyst within the Internal Audit Analytics team, you play a pivotal role in advancing the data, analytics, and technology capabilities of a global Internal Audit function at a leading biotechnology company. This role involves designing and deploying advanced analytics, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance risk identification, expand audit coverage, and elevate the delivery of insights across the organization. You will act as a trusted thought partner to Internal Audit leadership, shaping the analytics strategy and embedding data-driven decision-making throughout the audit lifecycle-from risk assessment and planning to testing and reporting. Working across financial, operational, and IT risk domains, you will leverage modern analytics platforms such as Alteryx, Power BI, and Tableau, along with Python-based analytics, to analyze complex enterprise data and deliver scalable, high-impact solutions. Additionally, you will explore and implement emerging technologies, including AI/ML, Copilot, and RPA, to support continuous auditing, predictive risk insights, and automation. Reporting to the Director of Internal Audit, this role offers the opportunity to drive meaningful, visible impact across a global organization.
What You'll Do:
- Design and execute advanced, scalable audit analytics across financial, operational, IT, compliance, and SOX audits to enhance audit coverage and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain repeatable analytics frameworks for high-risk areas, ensuring outputs are defensible and aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Extract, cleanse, integrate, and analyze large datasets using SQL, Python, and tools such as Alteryx, aligning results with business processes and control objectives.
- Partner with the SOX team to automate ITGC and business process control testing.
- Create advanced dashboards and visualizations using Tableau and Power BI.
- Drive continuous improvement in audit methodology through new analytic approaches and emerging technologies.
- Mentor staff and promote data literacy within the Internal Audit function.
- Collaborate with Internal Audit Leadership and Managers to align analytics strategies.
- Coordinate with Enterprise Data and IT teams for data integration.
- Apply critical thinking to design analytics aligned with audit, risk, and control objectives.
- Translate complex analytical results into actionable insights for audit teams and executive leadership.
- Manage projects and prioritize work to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs.

Required Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Accounting, Finance, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in data analytics, audit analytics, risk analytics, or related analytical roles.
- Advanced coding experience with SQL and Python, including writing, optimizing, and validating complex queries.
- Proficiency in leveraging solutions such as Alteryx and programming languages like SQL and Python for data analysis.
- Hands-on experience with analytics platforms such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, and Snowflake.
Preferred Skills:
- Working knowledge of advanced analytics, machine learning, AI-enabled techniques, and RPA tools.
- Relevant professional certification preferred, including CIA, CISA, Microsoft Data Analyst Associate, Python certification, or similar.
