Sales Trainees (f/m/d) for an assigned territory in Germany
About the program:
The Biogen Sales Trainee program is a 24-months program to attract and qualify recent university graduates for a commercial career in the pharmaceutical industry with an initial field focus. There are Sales Trainee opportunities in the Business Units BioImmunology, Specialty and Rare Diseases and the program will require the Sales Trainee to be flexible and mobile across Germany.
The first 4 weeks will consist of a comprehensive and structured onboarding in Munich (consisting of office- and field-related elements), followed by three field-based blocks of 7 months each in a designated area, split by two intervals of office-based rotations (1 month each) in the Marketing department of the respective Business Unit (mandatory) and another related department (e.g. Market Access, Customer Excellence & Operations).
In close cooperation with the line Manager and other experienced Mentors, the Trainee will quickly learn and improve customer interaction capabilities and will be responsible for sales results in the assigned territory. The Sales Trainee will gain experience and perspective in 360 degree aspects of the respective Business Unit with a clear focus on direct customer interactions.
What You'll Do:
- Sales Department
- Learn and work towards the achievement of sales- and non-promotional goals.
- Learn how to develop and execute territory plans including regional goals, identifying opportunities and coordinating / utilizing available resources.
- Understand available resources in support of customer needs and leverage those resources.
- Align with colleagues and collaborate with internal teams and cross-functional partners to advance programs and initiatives.
- Understand patient flows and support successful patient outcomes by closely tracking progress of new patients starting treatment and inform healthcare providers and other stakeholders regarding access and reimbursement programs and ensure appropriate service of Biogen.
- Interact appropriately with internal compliance experts to ensure efforts are aligned with relevant laws and regulations.
- Recognition, documentation and reporting of adverse events and technical product complaints to Drug Safety Germany or the responsible service center according to local SOPs.
- Step by step gaining industry-leading understanding of disease state, products, clinical practices, market dynamics, and healthcare systems.
- Get a good understanding of internal and external opportunities for learning, including conferences, seminars, and professional associations.
- Familiarize with and apply administrative follow-through: Keep timely documentation (e.g., expense reports, compliance related, CRM system) and provide input required for planning and coordination.
- Ensure Performance of Frequency of sales calls on designated customers in the territory; step by step optimizes omnichannel approach.

- Office base rotations
- Marketing duties for the mandatory rotation will include:
- supporting the planning and implementation of marketing campaigns and medical projects
- supporting planning and organization of internal and external (e.g. congresses) events
- Depending on the chosen department for the second rotation duties might include:
- For Market Access: Reimbursement and value & access topics
- For Customer Excellence & Operations: Support digital innovative projects and learn how to apply tools to analyze the market and how to interpret reports and market numbers
- Others: e.g. supports product PR in planning/creation of content or support events (e.g. press conferences)

Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or Master degree (preferred) in a natural or life-sciences discipline or completed professional education / certification as per § 75 AMG is a must
- Entry level job experience in pharma industry as intern / working student is preferred
- Valid driving license (class B) is a must
- Mobility and flexibility to take over an assigned sales territory in Germany
- Very high motivation to learn and develop
- Organized and methodical, flexible and hands-on way of work
- Trustworthy and reliable, able to act in a confidential manner
- Languages: Fluency in local language (German) and English is a must
