About This Role
As a Rare Disease Account Executive, you will play a pivotal role in driving patient identification and market development for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) within your territory. You will be part of a dynamic team focused on creating and executing strategic plans to meet sales, market share, and profit objectives. Your primary responsibility is to maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals and treatment clinics, effectively educating them about SMA treatments and overcoming barriers to healthcare provider decisions. You will collaborate with marketing, access, and medical teams to create value for patients and stakeholders, ensuring long-term growth while adhering to Biogen's ethical standards. Your work will significantly contribute to enhancing patient care and optimizing the standard of care in SMA treatment.

This position is based in Mexico City and territory includes (but not limited) the following areas: Puebla, Veracruz, and Merida.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute effective territory and account strategies to achieve sales targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in SMA care delivery.
  • Identify and understand the healthcare provider, center, and patient flow landscape for rare diseases.
  • Monitor competitor activities and develop strategies to defend or grow market share.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to address stakeholder needs and enhance patient access.
  • Plan and execute educational programs and events to improve diagnosis and treatment timelines.
  • Provide insights to management for identifying and profiling key accounts.
  • Analyze business and patient access threats and opportunities within accounts.
  • Set travel schedules and call plans to ensure adequate coverage of key accounts.
  • Support regional initiatives and contribute to the identification of potential key customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of commercial experience (sales) in High Specialty in Public Mexican Market.
  • Deep Knowledge of Mexican healthcare system.
  • Ability to translate technical data into narratives that emotionally resonate with the HCP's.
  • High degree of learning agility and ability to understand disease and product knowledge.
  • Experience working in a commercial team within a multifunctional environment.
  • Willingness to travel more than 50-60% of the time.
  • Strong organizational ability and accountability.
  • Knowledge of pricing policies and healthcare systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to applicant with experience in Rare Diseases. Alternately, experience in neurology preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant healthcare policy and legal aspects.
