About This Role:

As an Analytics Lead, you will be an integral member of the PO&T IT Data Analytics team. Your primary responsibility will be to work with the relevant IT functions to create and deploy BI, AI and ML solutions that support our business users in supply chain, lab, quality, and manufacturing. You'll act as a bridge between IT teams and the business, building and fostering partnerships and providing recommendations to address and resolve business issues, improve business processes, and leverage Gen AI /ML techniques to deliver value to the PO&T organization. You will manage the full lifecycle of Analytics solutions, from conception to deployment, while ensuring these solutions drive value and efficiency within the PO&T organization. As a key player in our data-driven initiatives, you will be crucial to the transformation of our business processes through innovative BI/AI/ML techniques, positioning yourself as a cornerstone of Biogen's operational success.

This is a hybrid role based in Cambridge, MA or RTP, NC.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with data management and AI IT functions and manage projects to design, build, and optimize machine learning models and AI solutions to address complex business challenges. Manage MSP support teams for deployed solutions, ensuring their effective operation
  • Implement and maintain Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, transforming raw data into actionable business insights.
  • Serve as the IT System Owner for Posit R and JMP Statistical Analysis tools and collaborate with other data scientists, software engineers, and product teams to align analytics initiatives with strategic business goals.
  • Work cross functionally and with the AI Capability Team to develop algorithms for tasks such as classification, regression, clustering, NLP, or computer vision.  Integrate these models into production environments and ensure scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Lead requirements gathering and facilitate the testing, deployment, and support of analytics products.
  • Work with DMA and AICT teams on data integration, data science platforms, and data visualization initiatives.
  • Plan and manage multiple parallel enhancement projects, coordinating with various teams to prioritize tasks and resources.
  • Assign tasks to project teams, overseeing the delivery and approving project deliverables.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Technology or relevant field.
  • 5-7 years’ experience with Machine Learning and Business Intelligence.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Generative AI.
  • 2-4 years' experience in Data Visualization tools such as PowerBI,Tableau etc.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy, Pandas.
  • Experience with Machine Learning techniques(Supervised, Unsupervised, Deep Learning, Model Evaluation etc.)
  • Knowledge of data preprocessing and data analysis.
  • Strong project management and technical leadership skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong mathematical foundations in linear algebra and statistics.
  • Experience working in SAFe Agile/SCRUM project methodologies.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment practices.
  • Experience with cloud data solutions, particularly AWS.
  • Experience with ETL and data management techniques.
