Pipeline Medical Science Liaison (MSL) - Nephrology (12 month Fixed Term Contract)

About This Role:

As a Pipeline MSL in Nephrology, you will be an integral part of our medical affairs team, focusing on enhancing our scientific credibility with clinical investigators and key scientific institutions. Your role will primarily involve supporting scientific dialogue and fostering collaborations in research, medical, and scientific exchanges related to our pipeline drugs in nephrology. You will manage critical relationships with established and emerging investigators, ensuring a strong presence at investigational sites and key scientific centres. This position is vital in facilitating clinical research, initiating and conducting company-sponsored clinical trials, and providing scientific leadership. You will play a crucial role in the collaborative efforts to advance our nephrology research initiatives within the overall business structure.

This is a fixed term contract (FTC) role for an initial 12-month period, with a potential for extension and is due to start ASAP.

What You'll Do:

  • Ensure a strong medical and scientific presence at investigational sites and key scientific centres.
  • Facilitate clinical research of interventional phase 1-3 trials with Company drugs.
  • Support requests for medical and scientific information on products or therapeutic interests.
  • Participate in site initiation visits and provide site training.
  • Manage medical and scientific FAQs effectively.
  • Establish and maintain a close working relationship with clinical operations staff.
  • Partner in facilitating the initiation and conduct of prioritized Company-sponsored clinical trials.
  • Provide scientific and technical leadership to maintain professional relationships with investigators.
  • Consult with medical professionals to refer appropriate patients to Clinical Trial sites.
  • Identify opportunities for R&D collaborations with key institutions and thought leaders.
  • Facilitate medical and scientific field intelligence and communicate insights within the Company.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and Company policies.

Who You Are:

You possess a strong ability to build relationships with investigators and clinical professionals. Your communication skills are exceptional, allowing you to effectively convey complex scientific information. You have a proactive approach, constantly seeking opportunities for collaboration and innovation. Your meticulous attention to detail ensures that all activities are conducted to the highest standard of compliance and ethical practice.

Required Skills:

  • MD, PharmD, or PhD degree in a relevant life science field required.
  • Proven professional experience as an MSL within the Pharma/Biotech industry, or in a similar field-based R&D role. Highly advantageous for this experience to have spanned pipeline products
  • Strong understanding of nephrology therapeutic area; experience within immunology and/or oncology therapeutic areas also considered
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical environment and the role of Medical Affairs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
