Patient & Public Engagement Lead
About This Role:
As a Patient & Public Engagement Lead, you will be at the forefront of shaping the healthcare landscape in Poland by developing and implementing a comprehensive external engagement strategy for Biogen's portfolio. Your role will involve building strategic partnerships with various stakeholders, including patient advocacy groups, media, key medical experts, healthcare institutes, policy makers, and government authorities. By fostering these relationships, you will drive initiatives that enhance disease awareness and communicate Biogen's commitment to neuroscience. Collaborating closely with the Polish and regional teams, you will ensure that our external engagement strategy aligns with key business initiatives to secure access to diagnosis and treatment. This role is integral to maintaining Biogen's leadership position in the market and plays a crucial part in the company's mission to improve patient outcomes.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and implement an integrated external engagement strategy to secure access to diagnosis and treatment in Poland.
- Build and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders, including patient advocacy groups, media, healthcare policy experts, and government employees.
- Collaborate with regional teams in Corporate Affairs, Public Policy, and Market Access to align engagement strategies with business objectives.
- Create and execute public relations strategies for professional audiences, ensuring alignment with brand strategies.
- Manage media relationships and implement PR tactics such as press releases and corporate publishing.
- Engage with patient advocacy groups to support Biogen's therapeutic areas and maintain ongoing cooperation.
- Analyze market trends and provide strategic recommendations for external engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks in all external communications.
- Work closely with internal partners to align medical PR strategies with overall business goals.
- Lead cross-functional teams to execute engagement strategies effectively.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of engagement initiatives, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external partners and stakeholders.

Please note that this role requires a candidate to be a holder of a work permit and residency in Poland, and to be fluent in Polish.
Required Skills:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in roles related to the Pharma/Biotech industry or PR/PA agency work with Pharma/Biotech accounts.
- University Degree; Master's Degree in Public Policy, Public Health, or Communications is preferred.
- Proven experience in independent project management within complex environments.
- Strong knowledge of the Polish healthcare system and legislative processes.
- Excellent command of Polish and English, both written and spoken.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and implement strategies cross-functionally.
- Strategic thinking with a focus on creating data-driven strategies.
- Strong customer orientation and excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with patient advocacy organizations and other external parties.
- Proven ability to formulate and articulate clear messages about complex subjects.
- Skilled at managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.
