Marketing Lead (f/m/d)

About This Role:
The Marketing Lead (f/m/d) owns marketing strategy and execution for the respective Business Unit and represents Marketing in the cross-functional Business Unit Leadership Team. The incumbent will drive business results for marketed products and prepare for new launches as needed. She/he will ensure that that resources are being allocated to the most compelling opportunities at any given time (ROI mindset) and will lead a diverse team of marketing, project manager and congress management professionals including development of capabilities and support of individual employee's growth.

What You'll Do:

  • Marketing Ownership

    • Responsible for achieving agreed business objectives and financial targets.
    • Drive annual strategic processes and clearly articulate strategic imperatives based on thorough business analysis including fostering of strategic insights generation
    • Own and shape the commercial investment mix and strategy for optimal return
    • Continuously liaise with cross-functional partners to ensure integrated planning and complementing execution by team members, with clear roles and responsibilities.
    • Design meaningful KPIs and measurements to assess effectiveness of marketing activities and refines and adapts as part of a continuous learning cycle.
    • Represents affiliate needs in global and regional forums and provides relevant market information and customer perspective to inform strategic decision making.
  • Team Leadership

    • Empower team members to design and implement tactical plans and innovative solutions
    • Set meaningful goals, articulate clear expectations and thoroughly assesses employee performance.
    • Supports individual team members development and personal growth through tangible development plans and meaningful actions to enable collective learning.
    • Consistently roles models in Biogen core values and leadership actions. Supports advancing the corporate culture and ways of working at the affiliate level.
    • Consistently ensures adherence to all applicable laws, standards and applicable SOPs and work instructions.
    • Underlines the importance of adhering to highest standards, supports the implementation of compliance program and framework, and holds employees accountable.
    • Fosters team spirit and enhances effective collaboration within the Commercial organization and across functions.

Who You Are:
The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader who excels in strategy, execution and people management. She/he possesses a strategic and empowering mindset and strong communication skills to ensure effective seamless cross-functional alignment and execution as well as representation in global forums and across the organization.

Required Skills:

  • University Degree required, preferably in economics, business, medicine, or a life science related discipline
  • Substantial professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry (approx. 10 years)
  • Profound commercial experience, preferably in local affiliate environment, regional/global level experience is a plus.
  • Strong track record of delivering results while enhancing collaborative culture and high employee engagement.
  • Excellent understanding of the pharmaceutical ecosystem including the competitive, government, payer and regulator environment.
  • Proven strategic aptitude and ability
  • Experienced in leading in a matrix organization
  • Proficiency in both German and English
