About This Role
The Manager, Business Operations & Analytics - Development plays a critical role in enabling operational excellence, data-driven decision-making, and technology enablement across Biogen's West Coast Hub (WCH). This role reports into the WCH Head of Strategy, Operations, and Excellence (SOE) for Development and is accountable for leading internal site governance, knowledge management, and informatics strategy, while also supporting portfolio-level analytics, program metrics, and ad hoc business requests from WCH Development leadership. The position requires strong cross-functional collaboration, a strategic mindset, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. This role does not have direct reports but has high visibility and influence across Development functions.

What You'll Do
Information Governance & Site Management
- Develop and manage internal content hubs and landing pages to centralize documentation.
- Define and enforce documentation governance standards and lifecycle management.
- Partner with SMEs to evolve site architecture and ensure compliance through regular audits.
Cross-functional Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with WCH Development teams, Finance, IT, and external vendors to assess needs and deliver informatics solutions.
- Translate business needs into informatics requirements for tech-enabled initiatives.
- Create contract operations efficiencies in partnership with the WCH contract operations and engagement team.
Technology Roadmapping & Deployment
- Co-develop and execute a site-specific technology roadmap in partnership with IT and under the Head of SOE oversight.
- Lead implementation of new tools, including business requirements, vendor coordination, and change management.
Portfolio Analytics & Business Insights
- Deliver ad hoc analyses and dashboards to support headcount tracking, financial summaries, vendor utilization, and program milestone tracking.
- Create executive-level visualizations using tools like Power BI or Tableau to support strategic decisions.
- Identify trends and insights across Development programs to inform prioritization and resource allocation.
Strategic Problem-Solving & Process Optimization
- Identify inefficiencies and propose scalable, tech-enabled solutions.
- Recommend process improvements based on data insights and stakeholder feedback.

Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree is required; advanced degree in related field is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is required, preferably in R&D or drug development.
- Strong understanding of documentation governance, intranet management, and information architecture is required.
- Demonstrated experience in deploying new tools and working with cross-functional teams is required.
- Proficiency in Sharepoint, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools for data analysis and visualization is required.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences is required.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with IT processes including contracting, requirements gathering, and system implementation.
- Understanding of GxP documentation standards and clinical development environments.
- Experience supporting senior leadership with data-driven insights and strategic recommendations.

Additional Information
The base compensation range for this role is: $114,000.00-$152,000.00
Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
