Job summary:
The KAM is responsible for improving the care of patients receiving Biogen medicines, developing the market for relevant promoted brands, enhancing access to treatment (along with any related testing and diagnostics) and expertly managing key accounts in the assigned geographic region. The KAM is accountable for the success of the promoted brands and is the key point of contact for all stakeholders within extended multi-disciplinary and specialty treatment teams. They will develop a clear understanding of all stakeholders associated with the patient journey and those critical to the logistics and distribution of Biogen medicines with key accounts. With a customer-centric approach, the KAM will navigate hospital and healthcare systems, coordinate interactions, and develop broad and effective networks, whilst creating territory, account and customer-based strategies to drive access to promoted Biogen products and delivering sales success on territory. This will be achieved by aligning specialty teams with the safety and benefits of relevant Biogen products, removing key barriers to access, educating stakeholders, improving patient identification and facilitating diagnostic pathways and awareness across the region. The KAM will work broadly and collaboratively with Biogen functions including medical, marketing, sales, CE&O and logistics-support to create value for patients and ensure long-term growth for promoted brands all whilst adhering to all codes of conduct and the strictest ethical, compliance and legal standards. The specific brand focus, geography and assigned key accounts will be subject to change based on evolving business needs.

Principal Accountabilities:
Deeply understands patient journeys and medical networks
- Approaches key accounts with a mindset of curiosity, consistently improving knowledge of medical networks and patient journeys
- Delivers clear insights to the business regarding the key account dynamics, approaches to diagnosis and treatment along with approaches to shared care with medical professionals beyond the account
- Effectively differentiates diagnostic and treatment approaches and patient journeys between key accounts and articulates the potential commercial impacts of these differences
Strategic Account Management
- Drives and manages Biogen SAM processes, developing specific strategies, tactics, and actions for all assigned key accounts
- Proactively ensures documents and plans are up to date and all relevant internal stakeholders are aware of progress
- Presents plans to internal stakeholders and articulates a deep knowledge of these accounts along with insights, trends, threats and opportunities relevant to the success of Biogen brands

- Has (by formal education or by significant experience) a relevant understanding of science and medicine enabling rapid expertise in a variety of the therapeutic areas, and understanding of diagnostics and treatment approaches
Minimum Education Requirements
- University Degree (Life Sciences preferred)
Minimum Experience Requirements:
- 3+ years of sales experience in the hospital/ academic or medical center/biotech/devices industry
- Proven high degree of learning agility in understanding the complex health care networks and therapeutic pathways and diagnostic pathways
- A strong command of highly scientific and technical concepts and subjects
- Experience working on a commercial or medical team that was a part of a multi-functional matrix to address patient/caregiver needs
- Highly Desired:
- Experience in Rare Diseases therapeutics
- Key Account Management experience
- Experience Neurology therapeutics
