In this role you will steer our Medical Department in Switzerland and Austria, driving the execution of our medical strategy. Your leadership will shape the integrity and reputation of Biogen through clear medical-scientific dialogues with the medical community and your expertise will not only be elemental for managing our cluster medical organization but also solidify Biogen as the most trusted medical-scientific partner. Your empowering leadership will be key to nurturing a high-performing team dedicated to our mission, always ensuring cross-functional alignment for all activities in execution of the medical plan while ensuring highest ethical standards.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the development and execution of the affiliate medical plan for Switzerland and Austria.
  • Establish and enhance the scientific reputation of local affiliates and forge strong scientific partnerships with internal and external partners.
  • Closely liaise with Commercial, Market Access and R&D to demonstrate the medical value for marketed products and upcoming products from our pipeline
  • Develop, oversee, and manage budgets for medical activities, contributing to affiliate budgeting and planning.
  • Lead and direct the cluster Medical team, optimizing performance and ensuring strategic execution while providing guidance, support and setting clear objectives.
  • Assign tasks effectively, outlining clear accountabilities, milestones and required resources taking talent development, succession planning and career growth considerations into account.
  • Lead organizational development, adapting to business growth and evolving market demands and foster a team-oriented culture, empowering teams to achieve excellence.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Biogen regulations, local laws, and the Biogen code of business conduct.
  • Build robust internal and external relationships, enhancing Biogen's therapeutic area presence and closely align with cross-functions and cluster GM define and implement cluster strategies and operations.
  • Promote product awareness and support scientific knowledge dissemination.
  • Represent Biogen at key healthcare professional engagements and international meetings.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • PhD, PharmD , MD or any other relevant background
  • 8+ years of Medical experience with people management experience
  • Proven understanding of the life science industry and the EU health-care systems and previous in-market experience in Switzerland and/or Austria
  • Previous experience in neurology is a plus
  • Excellent leadership, management, planning and execution skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement medical-scientific action plans (evidence generation, management and implementation of HCP training and education programs)
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of drug development, GCP and local regulations, including regulations of Promotional materials
  • Strategic thinking with strong business & scientific acumen
  • Excellent analytical skills. Capability to understand, interpret, and clearly and precisely communicate complex medical-scientific information
  • Local territory language knowledge and proficiency in English is a must, any other language is an advantage

Minimum annual gross salary of 90.000,00 €, final salary depending on qualification and experience.
