About This Role:
As our Head of Corporate Affairs, Germany you will lead and manage all strategic and operational communications with both external and internal audiences. This pivotal role is part of the German leadership team and is responsible for driving the deployment of a consistent corporate narrative across all media channels, including social and innovative platforms. You will own and steer Biogen's strategy for engaging with patient advocacy and other stakeholders across all therapeutic areas, ensuring a cohesive approach to influence perceptions and foster alliances. This position is essential to shaping Biogen's image and messaging, enhancing our external and internal communications. You will act as the corporate spokesperson and ensure that the Corporate Affairs function aligns with and adds maximum value to Biogen's commercial success.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead strategic and operational communications with external and internal audiences.
  • Develop and execute a consistent corporate narrative across various media channels.
  • Drive the integrated strategy for engaging with patient advocacy groups and related stakeholders.
  • Lead internal communications efforts to enhance culture and drive employee engagement.
  • Act as the corporate spokesperson for media and external stakeholders, managing crisis communications when necessary.
  • Lead a team of Corporate Affairs professionals, fostering personal and team development.
  • Ensure alignment of Corporate Affairs strategy with global objectives and business goals.
  • Collaborate with therapeutic areas and cross-functional partners to establish the Corporate Affairs value proposition.
  • Drive the maturation of Biogen's social media presence and effective channel strategies.
  • Oversee strategic internal communications to foster employee engagement and shape culture.
  • Drive alliances and advocacy initiatives to position Biogen favorably among patient advocacy groups and stakeholders.

Who You Are:
You are a strategic thinker with a passion for effective communication and storytelling. Your hands-on approach and innovative mindset enable you to lead a team towards achieving strategic goals. You possess a strong understanding of industry-specific standards and regulations, allowing you to engage responsibly with media and key stakeholders. You thrive in collaborative environments and are committed to fostering a patient-centric mindset within the organization. Your ability to influence, inspire, and drive change makes you a valuable partner in shaping Biogen's corporate image and culture.

Required Skills:

  • University Degree in Business, Communications, Life Sciences, or another relevant discipline.
  • 12+ years of experience in Corporate Affairs and/or Business roles in the pharmaceutical industry. Relevant experience in a communication agency with a focus on the pharmaceutical industry will be considered as well.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, including direct and matrix leadership.
  • Strong understanding of industry-specific standards and regulations.
  • Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including patient advocacy groups.
  • Trained to engage with media professionally through all relevant channels.
  • Strategic and innovative mindset with a hands-on approach.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven track record of successful media strategy and public policy engagement.
  • Strong ability to drive internal and external communication strategies that enhance employee engagement and corporate perception.
