Job Title: Diagnostic Leader

About This Role:
As the Diagnostic Leader, you will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of diagnostic strategies to support the therapeutic area in Brazil. Reporting directly to the Medical Director, you will be responsible for cascading and implementing global diagnostic strategies while tailoring regional solutions to meet the unique needs of the Brazilian healthcare landscape. This role is critical in fostering diagnostic capabilities across both private and public healthcare sectors, enabling improved patient journeys and biomarker confirmations. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, external diagnostic partners, and other regional affiliates, you will build networks within HCOs, hospitals, and HCPs to enhance diagnostic pathways for Biogen's pipeline. Your expertise in therapeutic areas, patient-treatment trends, and biomarker diagnostics will ensure that Biogen remains at the forefront of innovation while improving patient outcomes.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive diagnostic strategies and tactical plans in alignment with global and regional business objectives.


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Commercial, Medical, Value & Access, Regulatory, and Corporate Affairs, to ensure cohesive diagnostic initiatives.


  • Foster external partnerships with diagnostic manufacturers, ensuring robust governance models and successful milestone delivery.


  • Build and activate diagnostic networks within healthcare organizations, hospitals, and healthcare professionals across both private and public sectors.


  • Provide medical and scientific expertise to cross-functional teams and diagnostic colleagues in Brazil to support diagnostic initiatives.


  • Establish and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, such as KMEs and diagnostic labs, to drive innovation and address patient needs.


  • Translate complex medical, commercial, and access challenges into actionable tactics that align internal teams and external stakeholders.


  • Educate internal stakeholders on market conditions and critical success factors to optimize diagnostic initiatives and resource allocation.


  • Identify lifecycle development opportunities based on patient needs and facilitate knowledge sharing across therapeutic areas and regional teams.


  • Manage day-to-day activities, budgets, and deliverables with external agencies and consultants to ensure project success.

Who You Are:
You are a dynamic and strategic thinker who thrives in a matrix environment and is adept at navigating complex challenges. You excel at building relationships and fostering collaboration across multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally. Your passion for improving patient outcomes drives your ability to innovate and execute diagnostic strategies effectively. You are detail-oriented yet able to see the bigger picture, and you possess excellent communication and project management skills. You bring a proactive and solutions-focused approach to everything you do, ensuring alignment and delivering results.

Required Skills:

  • BS in biological sciences or clinical laboratory sciences.


  • At least 5 years of experience within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or diagnostics industry.


  • Written and verbal fluency in English and the local language.


  • Product launch and marketing experience.


  • Knowledge and understanding of disease areas, Brazilian healthcare systems, market dynamics, regulations, and policies.


  • Strong expertise in Alzheimer's Disease is preferred.


  • Ability to work effectively in a complex matrix environment and drive alignment across functions.


  • Excellent project management, teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.


  • Demonstrated ability to influence internal and external stakeholders in a highly complex environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in patient support programs (PSP).


  • Strong background in biomarker diagnostics development and implementation.


  • Familiarity with public and private healthcare systems in Brazil.
