About the Role:

As a key team member, you will contribute to our mission of establishing a world-class organization recognized for excellence in people, business solutions, execution, and collaborative partnerships with internal customers. Positioned within the IT Sourcing Team, you will play a pivotal role in maximizing value from technology acquisitions across Biogen's IT functions, including Infrastructure, R&D, Commercial, and Pharmaceutical Operations. Your work will support robust supplier relationship management, contract review and negotiation, and the crafting of innovative product and category strategies. This co-op offers a unique opportunity for hands-on learning and practical experience, where you will closely collaborate with IT stakeholders and cross-functional partners, such as Legal, Finance, Privacy, and Security.

What You'll Do:

As a co-op, you will:

  • Provide research, analysis, and operational support to Senior Sourcing Managers as they collaborate with IT leadership to build alignment and foster strategic relationships.
  • Assist in preparing, reviewing, and organizing customer and vendor agreements-including SaaS, software licensing, NDAs, and professional services contracts-to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Work with the IT Sourcing Team to coordinate due diligence and approval processes with Finance, Legal, and Security, ensuring thorough and timely completion.
  • Proactively conduct market-intelligence activities to stay informed on industry trends and supplier capabilities.
  • Perform research and analysis on industry, supply markets, and supply chains to support sourcing strategies and decision-making.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and document key actions, decisions, and follow-ups.
  • Aid in managing outside vendors and tracking deliverables.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to provide clear and concise documentation and communications
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), and ability to quickly learn new tools
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an entrepreneurial mindset. Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to organize and interpret data to support effective strategies
  • Interest in technology, procurement, or vendor management.
  • Curiosity and sense of ownership in day-to-day tasks.

To participate in the Biogen Internship or Co-op Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college, university or skills program/apprenticeship.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's student majoring in Business, Supply Chain, Information Technology, or a related field.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $25.00-$29.00

The actual hourly wage offered will consider the candidate's current academic level and degree candidacy, inclusive of Associate, Bachelor's, Master's, JD, MD, PhD and MBA programs. It will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements specific to the job location.
