Where You’ll Work
Float pool nurses rotate through a variety of areas of Medical Surgical Units, including:
· 2 East, 2 North, and 3 North – adult medical-surgical units caring for diverse patient populations
What You’ll Do
As a Float Pool RN at BID Milton, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across multiple medical-surgical units. Each shift, you’ll adapt quickly to new environments while ensuring safe, compassionate care. Your responsibilities will include:
· Providing direct patient care and making informed nursing judgments in diverse clinical settings
· Systematically assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, and evaluating outcomes
· Coordinating care and directing assistive personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and timely care
· Collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to support seamless patient care
· Acting as a patient advocate by building trust, maintaining respect, and effectively communicating with patients and families
· Assisting with specialized therapies and monitoring patients recovering from procedures, anesthesia, or moderate sedation
· Demonstrating ongoing professional growth through continuing education, quality improvement initiatives, and unit-based competencies
· Maintaining adherence to infection control standards, safety regulations, and BID Milton’s policies and procedures

Qualifications
· Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred
· Current Massachusetts RN license in good standing
· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with the American Heart Association required; ACLS preferred
· 2+ years of nursing experience preferred
· Recent acute Medical/Surgical or Telemetry nursing experience strongly preferred
