Test Technician
Job Description Summary
The Test Technician is responsible for performing product engineering testing for product design performance along the product development process and life cycle management. The Test Technician provides technical support on test methods and equipment operated in the lab. The Technician maintains good laboratory and documentation practices by ensuring compliance to applicable BD policies and procedures, as well as applicable standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Technical tasks related to product functional assessment including, but not limited to, concept feasibility, design verification, sustaining engineering, new product development.
- Assist in the planning, execution, and analyzing of experiments.
- Identify and escalate all unexpected results and support investigations.
- Report results of experiments to project leadership and prepare technical reports, when necessary.
- Lab technologies and change management
- Serve as a technical expert regarding general laboratory instrumentation, equipment, and processes.
- Plan and participate in equipment qualifications and test method validations.
- Participate in investigations related to equipment, test methods, or quality issues.
- Support continuous improvement of lab processes and test methods.
- Assist in on-boarding and training of new associates.
- Maintain good laboratory practices (GLP) consistent with product development objectives and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain good documentation practices (GDP) when generating test data and records.
- Complete other duties as assign
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma. BS degree in in Engineering, Science, or other related discipline preferred.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Prior technical experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry and/or Quality Control lab.
- Working knowledge of the operation of mechanical measurement equipment (e.g. Instron) desirable
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of computer programs
- Working knowledge of statistics
- Ability to work with diverse, multi-national, cross-functional teams
- Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
- Understanding of industry standards and regulations (ISO, FDA, OSHA, ASTM) desirable
