Summary of Job Responsibilities:
The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) is responsible for all sales activities in their assigned territory including but not limited to sales performance, inventory management, distributor relationships, pricing compliance, product portfolio implementation, promotional campaigns, new product introductions, customer training, technical support, market research and analysis, sales forecasting, expense management, and adherence to regulatory requirements. The TSM works closely with Regional Marketing Managers (RMM), Market Development Associates (MDA), Product Specialists, and other members of the organization to ensure sales objectives are achieved within each market.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements strategic initiatives and sales plans developed by RMM
  • Achieves or exceeds established annual sales quota
  • Acts as primary contact between BD and customers (hospitals, clinics, etc.)
  • Provides feedback to RMM regarding market potential, trends, selling techniques, and competitive activity
  • Maintains detailed records of customer accounts, purchases, and market trends
  • Communicates regularly with RM on business developments such as market fluctuations, new products, and changes in sales programs
  • Conducts field visits to key accounts
  • Develops strategies to maximize sales in each account while minimizing trade spend
  • Monitors and reports competitive activity, pricing erosion, and new product introduction
  • Advises RMM on sales strategies and tactics; recommends corrective action when necessary
  • Represents BD at regional conferences and trade shows
  • Assists RM with special projects

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience in peripheral vascular devices preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to analyze data and draw logical conclusions
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Highly motivated to achieve results
  • Self-starter who has demonstrated initiative and leadership skills
  • Results oriented individual with strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and to communicate effectively with physicians and hospital personnel
