Job Description Summary

The Senior Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the operations at our Irvine facility and will report to the Director of Operations. The role requires knowledge in supply chain management, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement as well as experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., FDA). This individual must possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal along with demonstrated project management abilities. They should also have prior supervisory/management experience and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting established deadlines.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of day-to-day production including scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMPs, regulatory requirements, quality systems, safety and environmental standards.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies and plans that support business objectives.
  • Coordinate activities across departments to meet production goals and ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Oversee inventory control, material procurement and logistics.
  • Monitor performance metrics related to productivity, waste reduction, quality assurance and cost containment.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams on process improvements initiatives.
  • Lead root cause analysis for product quality issues or manufacturing disruptions
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts through lean manufacturing techniques such as 5S, Kaizen events, etc.
  • Provide guidance to staff regarding policies, procedures and best practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years relevant work experience required.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles, lean manufacturing concepts and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience working in a medical device industry highly desirable.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to effectively communicate at all levels within organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with proven track record of successful team building and motivation.
  • Proven problem solving skills with ability to think critically and make sound decisions quickly.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (approximately 10%).
