Overview / Position Summary
The Master Data Specialist is responsible for ensuring that products and raw materials are configured in Great Plains Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in accordance with established practices. This position further ensures that product development and process manufacturing/optimization activities are aligned with system configuration requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Serves as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) within the ID/AST department for the Great Plains Master Data product/process configuration.
- Participates in product development by providing information which support the initial entry of parts into Great Plains.
- Responsible for completing, documentation submission to MDO for new products, or modification of existing products. Data includes, but are not limited to: Expiration Dating, Labor Route Files (for labor costs), and Bills of Materials (for material costs).
- Participates in all design transfer by providing information which support the initial entry of parts into Great Plains.
- Coordinate review and approval of submitted documents with QMRC, Master Data Organization and Documentation Specialists.
- Receives all requests for new material and modified master data from within the business/plant.
- Responsible for following departmental established procedures
- Provides support to the supervisor when necessary
- Generate required reports and perform data analysis as required
- Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Must follow all BD housekeeping and safety policies and procedures.
Skills
- Familiar with operating procedures, and bills of materials and other manufacturing documents.
- Time management skills required to ensure all tasks are completed without delay
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to work with various teams
- Strong prioritization skills required
- Ability to work independently
- Must be detailed-oriented
- Must have organizational skills

Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in an Enterprise Resource Planning system
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an Enterprise Resource Planning system - Great Plains
- Experience working in a regulated industry.
